Position Overview
The role is responsible for making outbound calls to customers with overdue payments, negotiating repayment plans and ensuring timely recovery while maintaining professional and compliant communication. The position requires strong persuasion, negotiation and follow-up skills in a BFS/collections environment.
Key Responsibilities
Outbound Calling & Recovery
- Call customers with pending or overdue payments as per assigned lists.
- Inform customers about outstanding dues and payment timelines.
- Motivate customers to pay and close outstanding amounts.
Negotiation & Repayment Planning
- Discuss and agree on feasible repayment plans within company policy.
- Record promises to pay and commitments accurately in CRM.
- Ensure adherence to approved settlements or repayment structures.
Follow-Up & Documentation
- Follow up with customers as per schedule until payment realization.
- Update call outcomes and notes in CRM/dialer software.
- Maintain accurate records for all calls and commitments.
Customer Handling & Escalation
- Handle customer queries and objections professionally.
- Escalate complex, sensitive or non-responsive cases to senior team members.
- Maintain a calm and respectful tone even in difficult conversations.
Compliance & Performance
- Follow DRA/collection guidelines, legal and regulatory norms at all times.
- Meet daily/weekly/monthly recovery and call targets.
- Participate in training, coaching and reviews to improve performance.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to handle difficult conversations with patience and control.
- Target-oriented mindset with follow-up discipline.
- Basic computer skills (CRM, dialer, MS Excel).
- Awareness of collection ethics and compliance guidelines.
Qualifications
- Minimum 12th pass; Graduation preferred.
- DRA certification or prior BFSI collections/debt recovery experience (preferred).
Experience
- 1–2 years of experience in telecalling, collections or customer service, preferably in BFS or debt recovery roles.
