Description
The Manager of Communications at Dr. Howard Fuller Collegiate Academy is responsible for leading and implementing dynamic communication strategies to support our dual goals of raising $1.75 million in development funds and enrolling 800 students for the next academic year. This role requires an innovative individual who will manage, create, and disseminate content across various platforms to enhance donor relations and student recruitment efforts. The Manager of Communications will craft compelling narratives through social media, videography, donor engagement, and marketing materials, ensuring consistent and engaging messaging that aligns with HFCA's mission and strategic objectives. Key responsibilities include editing and publishing timely content, maintaining CRM systems for donor management, and creating impactful marketing collateral for school events. The successful candidate will transform our communication efforts into robust channels of engagement and support, driving forward our fundraising and enrollment initiatives.

Requirements
Requirements:
- Proven experience in communications, marketing, or related field, preferably in an educational or nonprofit setting.
- Strong ability to produce and edit compelling video content, and manage social media platforms to increase engagement and meet organizational goals.
- Excellent writing skills, with experience in drafting donor communications and impactful storytelling that showcases student and teacher achievements.
- Proficiency in using CRM software to manage and enhance donor relationships.
- Ability to design and produce marketing materials, including flyers and digital content.
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, or related field.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet
deadlines. - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of working collaboratively across teams and
with diverse populations. - Experience in event planning and execution, capable of engaging a wide range of stakeholders.
- Requires mobility across a large campus, with occasional evening or weekend hours for events and meetings.

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to move throughout a large campus for prolonged periods, as well as to sit at a desk and work on a computer for extended periods.

Summary
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Social Media
- Lead the creation and management of social media content that promotes HFCA's mission, increases donor engagement, and supports student recruitment..
- Record and edit engaging social media videos and posts to acknowledge donors and highlight school achievements and events.
Videography
- Record and produce videos of morning meetings and other key school events, ensuring content is edited and available online within 48 hours.
- Create compelling video reels and manage the production of a weekly HFCA recap show on YouTube to maintain community engagement and promote school culture.
Donor Engagement
- Craft narratives that highlight student and teacher successes, further connecting donors with the tangible results of their support.
Donor Management
- Utilize CRM tools to enhance donor engagement strategies, maintaining accurate records and ensuring effective communication flows.
Marketing
- Design and produce flyers and digital materials for school events, ensuring they are distributed in a timely manner to maximize attendance and participation.
Professional Development & Collaboration
- Stay current with the latest trends in communication and educational marketing, actively seeking professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Collaborate with school leadership and other departments to align communication efforts and ensure a cohesive approach to school branding and community outreach.
- Manage all Audio Visual Ambassadors (AV Ambassadors) to record, film, and document all in-school events and support at out-of-school-day events as necessary.
Record Keeping
- Maintain meticulous records of communications outputs, social media analytics, and donor engagement metrics to continually refine and improve strategy execution.
Professionalism
- Uphold the highest standards of professionalism in all communications and interactions, ensuring adherence to HFCA's mission and values.
End of Year Key Performance Indicators - KPIs
- Fundraising Goal Achievement:
- Achieve or exceed the $2 million fundraising target.
- Enroll 800 students for Fall 2025.
- Enrollment Numbers:
- Reach or surpass the target of 800 student enrollments for the next academic year.
- Engagement Metrics:
- Increase social media engagement by 200% compared to the previous year.
- Achieve a 40% open rate and 15% click-through rate on donor and community emails.
- Content Production:
- Develop a brand guide to include functional products such as ppt template, letterhead, etc within the first month in the role.
- Produce and publish video content weekly that aligns with HFCA’s strategic objectives.
- Develop and distribute a minimum of 10 distinct pieces of digital and social marketing material each week.
- Produce narrative storytelling content each week that includes students, teachers, or family members praising key components of the school as outlined by your supervisor.
- Event Impact:
- Attend and document afterschool and weekend events with documented footage in both video and digital for marketing purposes.
Key Performance Indicators - KPIs - Weekly Lead Measures
- Social Media and Content Creation:
- Publish a minimum of seven (7) posts on each major social media platform (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok) weekly.
- Produce two short videos per week to highlight recent school events, achievements, or school programming aligned with Donor Menu weekly.
- Donor Engagement and Communication:
- Create three donor specific thank you videos per week as outlined by your supervisor.
- Engage personally with at least 5 donors per week through direct phone calls to foster relationships.
- Marketing and Promotional Activities:
- Design and circulate two new marketing pieces per week (flyers, digital banners, etc.) to promote upcoming school events or registration deadlines.
- Update the school’s website weekly with the latest news, upcoming events, and enrollment information.
- Collaboration and Coordination:
- Film all afterschool and Saturday events as outlined by your manager and in accordance with your school schedule and work hours.
- Manage and increase the skill level of AV Ambassadors across all digital mediums.
- Record Keeping and Reporting:
- Update social media metrics in a dashboard weekly to monitor trends and adjust strategies as necessary based on results. These results should be reported weekly to your supervisor in your weekly 1:1 meeting.
