Elevation Builder Developer I
The Elevation Builder Developer I will maintain and enhance Elevation Builder application, an internal tool used by technicians and system engineers to generate dynamic racks, cables, labels, and/or etc. diagrams from system builds.
The developer will work with senior engineers and key stakeholders in manufacturing, engineering, and operations to deliver improvements in usability, performance, and integration with internal systems.
Key responsibilities
- Implement features and fixes in the Elevation Builder VB .NET Framework codebase (Desktop client) under the guidance of senior developers.
- Contribute to functionality for generating and visualizing rack elevations, cabling diagrams, and configuration data sourced from Neptune and other internal data services.
- Consume internal APIs and data sources to retrieve and synchronize build data.
- Investigate and resolve bugs; assist with performance and stability improvements.
- Participate in code reviews, follow established coding standards, and write basic unit tests.
- Collaborate with product owners and system engineers to understand requirements and refine technical tasks.
Required skills & experience (junior–mid)
- 1–4 years of experience with VB and/or C# .NET Framework (4.7.x+), ideally on Windows desktop applications and/or Office add-ins.
- Basic understanding of object-oriented programming, debugging, and troubleshooting .NET applications.
- Experience working with SQL or other relational databases and consuming REST/HTTP APIs (coursework, internships, or prior roles).
- Familiarity with source control (Git/Azure DevOps or similar).
- Effective communication skills and willingness to learn from senior engineers and cross-functional partners.
Nice to have
- Exposure to Microsoft Visio & Excel automation, VSTO, or Office interop.
- Interest or background in data center infrastructure, racks, networking, or converged systems.
- Experience with other .NET languages (e.g., C#) or modernizing legacy .NET Framework code.
