Role Description The Director of Photography (DOP) is a full-time, on-site role based in New Delhi. This position is responsible for leading the visual language of video and film projects, including narrative, commercial, digital, and branded content. Day-to-day tasks include planning and executing shoots, collaborating with directors, producers, and creative teams, selecting and managing camera and lighting setups, and ensuring visual consistency with the brand and project objectives. The DOP will oversee camera crews, manage on-set logistics related to cinematography, and maintain high technical standards across all productions. The role also involves contributing to pre-production (storyboarding, shot lists, testing setups), reviewing footage, and working closely with post-production teams to preserve the intended look and feel.
Qualifications
- Strong cinematography skills, including expertise in camera operation, framing, composition, and visual storytelling.
- Proficiency with professional camera systems, lenses, lighting equipment, and grip tools relevant to commercial and branded content.
- Experience in pre-production planning, including shot listing, storyboarding with directors, and building a visual approach aligned to creative briefs.
- Ability to lead and coordinate camera and lighting teams on set, manage time and resources, and maintain a collaborative work environment.
- Working knowledge of color grading principles, digital workflows, and coordination with editors and post-production teams.
- Demonstrated portfolio of work in advertising, digital content, or film that showcases a strong, distinctive visual style.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate creative concepts into clear technical plans and directions.
- Relevant education or training in film, media, visual communication, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, creative environment and openness to challenging norms while maintaining client objectives.
