Mission description
The Domain Purchasing Manager leads and manages all purchasing activities within a defined domain. This role is responsible for developing and executing the purchasing strategy, managing supplier relations with strategic suppliers, and driving cost optimization, innovation and sustainability initiatives within their scope. The position requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure alignment with company and group-level objectives. Provide strong technical and functional leadership within your scope to ensure effective coordination among various stakeholders (Business Units and Group). Define and implement domain-specific purchasing strategies aligned with overall company and group procurement policies. Negotiate complex contracts and agreements, securing the best total cost of ownership and long-term competitiveness. Develop and manage a robust supplier panel, including supplier selection, qualification, and risk assessment. Seamless collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders to anticipate needs and drive value creation. Monitor market trends, risks, and technological innovations relevant to the domain, proposing proactive sourcing solutions. Ensure projects are equipped with the necessary resources (skills, equipment) to meet objectives and timelines. Supervise Commodity Managers and Buyers, and/or ensure the coordination and management of multiple projects, resources, and means. Manage high-level strategic issues within the organization (internal and external), involving complex negotiations that impact company performance. Represent the commodity/domain at the group level. Sensitize stakeholders to explain the Purchasing vision and strategy and gain their buy-in to achieve expected results. Support and mentor buyers within the domain, sharing expertise and fostering professional development. Ensure compliance with company processes, internal policies, ethics, and sustainability requirements. Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), providing strategic insights to top management. Serve as a reference point for other buyers and managers to benefit from your expertise and experience
Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field. 15+years of experience in purchasing or supply chain management, including experience in leadership or domain-focused role. Strong knowledge of strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, and supplier performance management. Solid understanding of market mechanisms, risk management, and cost structure analysis. Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or equivalent). Professional proficiency in English (additional languages as French are a plus). Experience in an industrial, automotive, aerospace, or technology environment preferred. International exposure. Managerial skills, previous experience of directly handling teams of buyers/managers remotely.
