About Finrep
Finrep.ai builds AI-powered tools for SEC reporting, technical accounting, and financial disclosure workflows. Our platform helps public-company finance teams and professional services firms produce high-quality regulatory filings, financial analyses, and compliance artifacts with greater speed and accuracy.
About the Role
You define how Finrep's AI reasons about complex financial and regulatory topics. Your work shapes the skills and agentic workflows the AI runs on, the rubrics by which its outputs are judged, and the standard user experience. The role is product-first: you live inside the loop that takes an idea, builds it as an AI workflow, evaluates its outputs, and ships it to users. Technical accounting depth is the substrate. You collaborate daily with engineering, product, design, and go-to-market, and you carry the weight of being the source of truth on what "good" looks like.
Key Responsibilities
- Own AI workflows end-to-end. Design, build, test, and maintain the AI skills and multi-step agent workflows that automate technical accounting research, SEC disclosure drafting, regulatory compliance checks, financial benchmarking, and filing-readiness analysis.
- Define what "good output" looks like. Author the source-of-truth standards, evaluation rubrics, and scoring criteria that the AI is judged against. Partner with engineering to operationalize them into graders and test suites; gate customer-facing deliverables through quality checkpoints before release.
- Be the domain authority. Bring deep working knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, and SEC regulatory guidance; stay current on evolving standards and disclosure expectations; validate the AI's technical interpretations at the bar of a senior practitioner.
- Set the craft standards. Define and continuously improve the standards for skill authoring, prompt structure, evaluation methodology, and output formatting. Periodically audit existing skills and prompts against current accounting standards and customer needs.
- Operate inside the production loop, and lead from within it. You are a closer in the Skills → Eval → Ship cadence; authoring, evaluating, and gating releases. You also lead the way on technical direction within the Domain Expertise function, surface ideas that shape the product roadmap from gaps you observe in real reasoning, and enable GTM as the domain anchor in customer-facing moments.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to translate complex regulatory and accounting standards into structured, implementable product logic.
- Strong working knowledge of US GAAP, SEC reporting requirements (10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, proxy, S-1), and the financial disclosure lifecycle.
- CPA, CA, or equivalent professional accounting certification, with 3+ years in technical accounting, audit, SEC reporting, or financial advisory at a Big 4 or professional services firm.
- Demonstrated curiosity and ability to operate inside AI/product workflows; eager to learn skill authoring, prompt design, and evaluation craft as core to the work.
- Excellent analytical and written communication skills, comfortable producing evaluation frameworks, product specs, customer documentation, and technical write-ups.
- Track record of working cross-functionally with engineering, product, and customer-facing teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-directed and comfortable with ambiguity; able to define scope, prioritize independently, and drive initiatives end-to-end.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with EDGAR, XBRL taxonomy, SEC comment letter processes, and regulatory filing workflows.
- Experience building or evaluating AI agents, skill/workflow architectures, or LLM evaluation infrastructure.
- Background in financial data analysis, peer benchmarking, or equity research.
- IFRS knowledge or dual-framework (US GAAP + IFRS) experience.
