About the role

Docuvera is a global SaaS leader in component-based structured content authoring, transforming how pharmaceutical companies create, manage, and reuse product-related content. Our platform empowers life sciences organizations to drive digital transformation through efficient, compliant, and multiformat content creation. Headquartered in Wellington, New Zealand, our team are distributed across New Zealand, Asia, and the United States.

THE PART YOU'LL PLAY

As a pivotal member of the engineering team at Docuvera, you will design, build, and maintain scalable, secure, and highly automated AWS cloud infrastructure that supports our AI-powered content management and life sciences documentation platform. Your team will lead the development and optimization of CI/CD pipelines, implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices, and collaborate closely with data scientists and software engineers to operationalize machine learning models and AI workloads.

Your work will directly enable rapid, reliable software and AI model deployments, ensuring high availability, security, and compliance in a regulated environment.

You will drive automation and infrastructure scalability to support Docuvera’s evolving AI and MLOps capabilities.

WHAT YOU'LL FOCUS ON

In this role, you will architect, deploy, and manage secure, scalable cloud infrastructure using AWS services such as EC2, Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, CloudFormation, CDK, EKS, and ECS. You will develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) templates and scripts with tools like AWS CloudFormation, AWS CDK, and Terraform to automate provisioning and configuration, ensuring consistency across environments.

Your responsibilities include designing, implementing, and optimizing automated CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI/CD to support continuous integration, testing, and deployment of both software and AI/ML models. You will collaborate closely with data scientists and ML engineers to deploy, monitor, and maintain machine learning models in production, building and automating end-to-end ML pipelines with tools such as AWS SageMaker. Additionally, you will implement comprehensive monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions using AWS CloudWatch and New Relic to ensure system health, performance, and security, proactively resolving issues that impact AI workloads and infrastructure.

Security and compliance are integral to the role, as you will integrate best practices throughout the infrastructure lifecycle, manage secrets, enforce access controls, and embed compliance checks into CI/CD pipelines to meet regulatory requirements in the life sciences domain.

You will also identify and automate manual processes and bottlenecks using scripting languages such as Python, Bash, and PowerShell, as well as AI-driven automation tools, to enhance efficiency, reliability, and scalability. Collaboration is key, as you will work cross-functionally with software engineers, data scientists, and product teams to align infrastructure and deployment strategies with business goals and drive AI innovation.

WE'RE SEEKING THESE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

We are seeking a talented professional with strong expertise in AWS cloud services—including EC2, Lambda, S3, DynamoDB, EKS, ECS, CloudFormation, CDK, IAM, and CloudWatch—along with proficiency in Infrastructure as Code tools such as AWS CloudFormation, AWS CDK, and Terraform. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitLab CI/CD, AWS CodePipeline, or GitHub Actions, as well as deploying AI/ML solutions with MLOps tools such as MLflow, Kubeflow, or AWS SageMaker. Strong scripting skills in Python, Bash, PowerShell, or similar languages for automation are essential, as is a solid understanding of monitoring and observability tools like New Relic or AWS CloudWatch. A robust grasp of networking, security best practices, and compliance requirements in cloud environments is also required.

You’ll bring excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach, enabling you to work effectively across both technical and non-technical teams. We value a strong problem-solving mindset, a passion for automation and continuous improvement, and the adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced, innovative environment. A team-oriented attitude and a willingness to participate in on-call rotations for production support are important for this role.

We are looking for someone who is proactive, self-motivated, and able to work independently with minimal supervision. You should be a true team player, eager to collaborate with cross-functional, multicultural teams, and build strong working relationships. A solutions-focused mindset, a willingness to learn and adapt, and the ability to thrive amidst change and shifting priorities are key. Flexibility to adjust your working style to maximize overlap with our global teams, along with resilience in a dynamic scale-up tech environment, will help you succeed in this role.
