As a Founding Backend Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in building and scaling the core backend architecture of our AI platform. You’ll work closely with product, AI/ML engineers, and the broader team to design, develop, and deploy efficient, scalable, and secure backend systems. This role offers the unique opportunity to shape the technical foundation of a high-impact product and contribute directly to its success.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Backend Development: Design and implement robust backend systems using Python (FastAPI).
2. API Design: Develop high-performance, scalable, and secure APIs to power our AI-driven applications.
3. Collaboration with AI Teams: Work closely with AI/ML engineers to integrate AI models and pipelines into the backend infrastructure.
4. Database Management: Design and optimize database schemas and queries to handle large-scale data efficiently.
5. Testing & Optimization: Write unit and integration tests, optimize application performance, and ensure code quality.
6. Scaling & Deployment: Build scalable systems that can handle rapid growth, using best practices in cloud environments.
7. Technical Innovation: Contribute to technical architecture, design decisions, and product roadmap planning.

What We’re Looking For:

1. Experience: 3+ years of experience in backend development, with expertise in Python (FastAPI or similar frameworks).
2. Technical Skills:
   -Strong understanding of RESTful API design and development.
   -Experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and ORMs.
   -Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and deployment strategies.
   -Knowledge of containerization (Docker) and CI/CD pipelines.
   -Proficiency in Git and collaborative development workflows.
3. Problem-Solving Ability: A strong analytical mindset to troubleshoot and solve complex technical challenges.
4. Collaboration Skills: A team player with excellent communication skills, comfortable working in cross-functional teams.
