Position: Yard Manager
Department: Yard Services, Maintenance, HSE & Docking.

Role Overview
Leads the Yard Services, Maintenance, HSE & Docking
Ensures safe, efficient, and environmentally compliant ship repair operations.
Maintains international standards for ship repair and yard management.
Key Responsibilities
Safety & Environment
Ensure all yard operations follow approved safety and environmental procedures.
Promote a safe work culture through toolbox talks and regular communication.
Maintain a clean and safe yard environment.
Docking, Undocking & Ship Lift Operations
Oversee maintenance of ship lift platform and transfer systems.
Plan and execute periodic surveys and resolve observations promptly.
Plan berth availability based on vessel schedules.
Ensure accurate docking plans and block preparations.
Supervise safe docking/undocking and vessel movement.
Maintain ship lift pocket depth (mud lifting/dredging).
Coordinate daily operations with department supervisors.
Yard Utilities & Services
Assess vessel service needs and ensure timely provision.
Maintain yard utilities in optimal operational condition.
Manage inventories for yard services.
Ensure proper functioning of hired utilities and trained operators.
Ensure yard drain systems are in good condition.
Electrical & Power Generation Division
Provide shore supply and electrical connections upon vessel arrival.
Maintain generators for 50 Hz supply for yard and vessel needs.
Coordinate with MSEB and maintain power factor records.
Oversee maintenance of electrical facilities, panels, tower lights, substations.
Support O&M of three substations.
Workshops
Ensure all workshop equipment is operational for maximum productivity.
Maintain inventory and accountability of special tools.
Project Management & Refit Coordination
Support projects to ensure safe and timely completion.
Housekeeping
Maintain high cleanliness standards across the yard.
Promote “A clean Yard is a safe Yard.”
Management & Reporting
Implement ISO standards (Safety, Environment, Quality).
Submit weekly and monthly reports in standard formats.
Qualifications & Competencies
BE Degree / BE Naval Arc or Equivalent.
15–20 years of experience in a reputed international shiprepair yard for Shipyard Operations.
Strong leadership and problem‑solving skills.
Good knowledge of engineering practices, maintenance management, and planning.
