Job Purpose
The Divisional Finance Manager is responsible for overseeing the financial operations of all branches within the assigned division. The role ensures financial accuracy, statutory compliance, budgetary control, profitability analysis, cash flow management, and implementation of financial policies while supporting business growth and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Planning & Budgeting
- Prepare annual budgets and financial forecasts for all branches in the division.
- Monitor budget utilization and recommend corrective actions.
- Analyze financial performance against budgets and targets.
- Support strategic financial planning and expansion projects.
Financial Reporting
- Review daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports.
- Consolidate branch financial statements.
- Present MIS reports to senior management.
- Ensure timely month-end and year-end financial closing.
Revenue & Profitability Management
- Monitor branch-wise revenue, expenses, and profitability.
- Analyze departmental income and expenditure.
- Identify opportunities for cost optimization.
- Recommend measures to improve financial performance.
Cash Flow & Working Capital Management
- Monitor daily cash flow and liquidity.
- Ensure adequate working capital for branch operations.
- Supervise fund transfers between branches when required.
- Review bank balances and cash utilization.
Internal Controls & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
- Monitor financial controls across all branches.
- Coordinate internal and external audits.
- Ensure statutory compliance, including GST, TDS, Income Tax, PF, ESI, and other applicable regulations.
Accounts Management
- Supervise Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable.
- Review ageing reports and outstanding collections.
- Approve high-value payments as per delegated authority.
- Monitor vendor reconciliations and customer accounts.
Branch Finance Supervision
- Guide Branch Accountants and Finance Executives.
- Conduct regular branch financial reviews.
- Standardize financial processes across branches.
- Ensure timely submission of financial reports.
Risk Management
- Identify financial risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Monitor fraud prevention measures.
- Ensure adherence to financial SOPs.
- Strengthen internal financial controls.
Audit & Documentation
- Coordinate statutory, internal, and management audits.
- Ensure proper maintenance of financial records.
- Monitor implementation of audit observations.
- Prepare financial documentation required by management and regulatory authorities.
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead and mentor the divisional finance team.
- Conduct performance reviews.
- Identify training needs and support staff development.
- Promote a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Management Support
- Provide financial insights for strategic decision-making.
- Evaluate investment proposals and capital expenditure.
- Participate in business review meetings.
- Support mergers, acquisitions, and new branch financial planning when required.
