About the role
We're hiring our first Head of Communications to define our brand, elevate our executive and technical thought leadership, and create signature events that resonate with Fortune 100 CIOs and innovation leaders.
This is a build-from-scratch leadership role, perfect for someone who has lived through scaling a high-growth tech startup — even if you weren't the final decision-maker, you know what "great" looks like and you're ready to own it this time.
You'll work directly with our founders, product leaders, and technical team to craft our narrative, build our presence in front of the world's largest enterprises and key government buyers, and shape how the market understands enterprise AI.
This is an essential role for Distyl and as such, we're looking for someone ambitious — a builder and storyteller who wants to establish a high-credibility brand that Fortune 100 decision-makers trust.
What You'll Do
Develop the company's brand narrative and messaging framework, ensuring we show up with the sophistication and authority that Fortune 100 CIOs expect from a strategic technology partner.
Build and manage an executive visibility program for our CEO and technical leadership that includes media strategy, high-visibility speaking opportunities, and content strategy.
Manage media strategy, building relationships with enterprise technology/AI media, AI analysts, and influential voices in the innovation community. Develop and execute an awards and recognition program.
Own events strategy, design, and execution. Create high-caliber, innovative gatherings to drive influence with key audiences including CIOs/decision makers, technologists, media, and investors. Lead the company's conference strategy, positioning Distyl at the right forums including WEF (Davos), Fortune Tech Brainstorm, WSJ Tech Live, and similar.
Manage internal communications working cross-functionally with product, sales, engineering, and recruiting to ensure our internal and external messaging aligns with who we are, how we sell, and how we build.
Establish and monitor key metrics (OKRs and KPIs) to measure engagement, impact and ROI. Report data-driven insights to leadership that will help refine strategies and strengthen overall engagement efforts.
Manage an overall communications budget and resources including the agencies and vendors needed to ensure cost effective planning and flawless execution.
