Job Summary
The District Sales Manager (DSM) will be responsible for driving sales performance, dealer engagement, market development, and execution of sales and branding activities within the assigned territory. The role requires strong channel management skills, market understanding, and the ability to achieve business targets while maintaining excellent dealer and customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities
A. Technical / Functional Responsibilities
- Achieve monthly sales targets for YCN products within the assigned territory.
- Drive market penetration and increase business through existing and new dealer networks.
- Identify opportunities for business expansion and market development.
- Ensure maximum dealer participation and effective implementation of promotional activities.
- Ensure proper utilization, placement, and display of POP materials at dealer counters and outlets.
- Monitor visibility standards and branding effectiveness across the market.
- Coordinate and support the launch of new tyre sizes and patterns in the market.
- Collect and share feedback from dealers and customers regarding product acceptance, performance, and demand trends.
- Increase dealer participation in company schemes and promotional programs.
- Identify and revive sleeping or inactive dealers to improve market coverage and sales performance.
- Maintain strong relationships with dealers and channel partners.
- Prepare and maintain accurate MIS reports, sales data, and market analysis.
- Collect market intelligence related to competitor activities, pricing, customer preferences, and industry trends.
- Share regular market updates and business insights with management.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, logistics, finance, and customer support.
- Contribute as a strong team player to achieve regional and organizational objectives.
B. Other Tasks
- Perform additional responsibilities and assignments as directed by management from time to time.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong sales and negotiation skills.
- Good understanding of channel sales and dealer management.
- Effective communication and relationship-building abilities.
- Strong analytical and market assessment skills.
- Ability to handle multiple stakeholders and achieve business targets.
- Good knowledge of MS Excel, PowerPoint, and reporting tools.
- Self-driven, result-oriented, and proactive approach.
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Commerce, or related field.
- MBA in Sales & Marketing will be preferred.
Experience Required
- 3–7 years of experience in sales, channel management, or business development.
- Experience in tyre sales is required.
- Prior exposure to dealer handling and market development activities is desirable.
