Role Description The District Head role is a full-time, on-site position based in Tamil Nadu, India. The District Head oversees district-level operations, leads and supports taluk teams, and ensures effective implementation of the Sathyam Agro Clinic model in all assigned areas. This role involves planning and monitoring field activities, coordinating with Agri Doctors and Team Leaders, and driving farmer engagement initiatives to improve adoption of organic and sustainable practices. The District Head is responsible for setting performance targets, analyzing district performance data, and implementing strategies to enhance farmer productivity, profitability, and satisfaction. Day-to-day tasks include conducting review meetings, visiting field locations, managing stakeholder relationships, ensuring compliance with company standards, and reporting regularly to senior management.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in agriculture, agri-business, rural development, or related field, with strong understanding of crop production and farming systems.
- Leadership and people management skills, including experience guiding field teams, mentoring team members, and driving performance in multi-location operations.
- Operational and planning abilities, such as district-level scheduling, resource allocation, activity monitoring, and problem-solving in dynamic field environments.
- Communication and relationship-building skills for engaging with farmers, local stakeholders, internal teams, and management in a clear and respectful manner.
- Data-driven decision-making skills, including basic proficiency in reporting, analyzing field performance metrics, and using digital tools or MS Office applications.
- Strong organizational skills, ability to travel within the district as required, and readiness to work extensively on-site in rural and semi-urban locations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agri-Business Management, Rural Management, or a related discipline; advanced qualifications are an advantage.
- Prior experience working with farmer communities, extension services, or sustainable/organic agriculture initiatives
