About the Role:You will be the internal design lead across product UX, visual systems, and AI-assisted marketing execution.
This is not a role for someone who only wants to make screens look good.
You will help design and improve Pathways Connect, create and maintain strong visual consistency across PathwaysX touchpoints, and review AI-generated creative outputs so that what ships is sharp, credible, and on-brand.
You will operate as both a designer and a judgment layer.
Responsibilities: What You’ll Own
1) Product Design for Pathways Connect
• Design UX flows, screens, and interactions across the Pathways Connect platform
• Translate rough product ideas into clear user journeys, wireframes, prototypes, and polished UI
• Improve clarity, usability, and trust across founder, hiring manager, candidate, and Talent Partner experiences
• Work closely with product and engineering to refine and ship improvements
• Help create and maintain a scalable design system for the platform
2) Brand and Marketing Design
• Create and maintain visual assets across the website, decks, one-pagers, social content, email, and sales collateral
• Bring consistency across PathwaysX’s product, brand, and GTM surfaces
• Design reusable campaign assets and templates rather than one-off graphics
• Help evolve the PathwaysX visual identity as the company matures
3) Human-in-the-Loop Review for AI Marketing
• Build and review Review AI-generated content and creative outputs across design, copy, landing pages, short-form video, and campaign assets
• Decide what is usable, what needs revision, and what should not ship
• Improve prompt and workflow quality by identifying repeated errors, weak outputs, and brand drift
• Turn rough AI-generated assets into polished, founder-quality outputs
• Help define quality-control standards for AI-assisted design and marketing production
4) AI-Assisted Creative Production
• Use AI tools to help generate first-draft creative across voice, video, visual assets, and campaign materials
• Work across tools such as ElevenLabs, HeyGen, Runway, Adobe Firefly, or similar platforms where needed
• Improve workflows across the creative stack so output quality compounds over time
• Help define when AI should generate, when a human should edit, and when work should be created manually from scratch
5) Workflow and Systems Design
• Build repeatable templates, component libraries, and review frameworks so design output compounds over time
• Help define how AI agents and humans should work together in PathwaysX’s internal marketing workflow
• Document best practices for creative review, approvals, and production handoff
• Support lightweight experimentation across landing pages, outreach assets, and messaging surfaces
What Good Looks Like in the First 90 Days
• You improve key user flows inside Pathways Connect
• PathwaysX has a more coherent visual system across product and GTM assets
• AI-generated marketing and creative outputs go through a clear review process before shipping
• Design quality improves while turnaround time gets faster
• Founder and team spend less time fixing weak assets or rewriting messy outputs
Must-Have Skills:- Strong product design fundamentals across user flows, wireframing, interaction design, and polished UI execution
- Ability to translate ambiguous product ideas into clear, usable screens and workflows
- Strong visual design judgment across hierarchy, typography, spacing, and consistency
- Hands-on experience designing digital products in Figma, including prototypes and reusable components
- Ability to improve usability and clarity across multi-step platform experiences
- Comfort creating design assets across both product and external brand / marketing surfaces
- Ability to review AI-generated creative outputs and identify what is usable, what needs revision, and what should not ship
- Strong ownership and ability to work directly with a founder in a fast-moving, ambiguous environment
- Strong written and verbal English, including the ability to explain design decisions clearly
- Partner with Product team to build out the GTM/ Distribution Strategy
- Ability to work with partial overlap to U.S. Eastern Time
Important-to-Have Skills:- Experience designing for B2B SaaS, workflow products, internal tools, or platform-based experiences
- Ability to design across both product UX and growth / marketing use cases without losing quality
- Experience building or contributing to a design system
- Ability to turn rough concepts into reusable templates, component libraries, and structured creative assets
- Comfort working with AI-assisted creative tools for image, voice, video, or content generation
- Ability to improve prompts, workflows, and review loops when AI output is weak or inconsistent
- Experience creating website assets, landing pages, decks, one-pagers, or campaign visuals
- Ability to balance speed and quality when shipping work across multiple surfaces
- Strong async communication and documentation habits
Good-to-Have Skills:- Familiarity with tools such as ElevenLabs, HeyGen, Runway, Adobe Firefly, Webflow, Framer, or similar platforms
- Experience with short-form video, motion assets, narrated product demos, or AI-assisted media workflows
- Exposure to startup hiring, HR tech, talent platforms, or marketplace-style products
- Understanding of human-in-the-loop review systems for AI-generated content
- Experience supporting brand evolution in an early-stage startup
- Ability to work across design, light creative operations, and workflow improvement
- Interest in AI-native product experiences and how human judgment should shape them
Team dynamics:- Small, founder-led, and highly cross-functional. This role will work directly with the Founder and collaborate across product, engineering, marketing, and external creative/design support as needed. The structure is lean and agile, with high ownership and low bureaucracy. This is not a layered corporate environment — people are expected to think beyond their function and help move the system forward.
- Fast-moving, collaborative, and largely async-first with regular live working sessions where needed. We work through a mix of direct founder collaboration, quick feedback loops, and ongoing iteration across product and GTM work. The team is expected to communicate clearly, document decisions, and stay flexible as priorities evolve. There is a strong bias toward action, but with thoughtfulness and quality.
- Slack for day-to-day communication, Notion for task tracking and internal documentation, Google for documents and collaboration, Figma for design work, and meetings via video calls. Depending on the workflow, the team may also use AI creative tools such as ElevenLabs, HeyGen, Runway, Adobe Firefly, or similar tools as part of the creative and marketing process.
- This role will have strong cross-functional exposure across product design, marketing, brand, and workflow improvement. You will work closely with the Founder on Pathways Connect, help shape how AI-generated creative is reviewed and improved, and collaborate on decks, landing pages, sales materials, and broader brand systems. Because the company is early-stage, there is meaningful opportunity to influence both the work itself and how the team operates over time.
