Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site dispatcher role based in Ludhiana, Punjab, India. The dispatcher will coordinate daily freight movements, assign loads to drivers and carriers, and ensure timely pickup and delivery across road, air, and sea routes. Responsibilities include monitoring shipment status, updating internal systems, communicating with drivers, warehouse teams, and customers, and resolving delays or issues in real time. The role involves preparing and reviewing transport documentation, aligning dispatch plans with customs and compliance requirements, and optimizing routes for cost and time efficiency. The dispatcher will collaborate closely with operations, customer service, and warehouse staff to maintain accurate records and uphold safety and service standards.
Qualifications
- Strong logistics and dispatch coordination skills, including route planning, load assignment, and shipment tracking.
- Proficiency in using dispatch or transport management software, spreadsheets, and communication tools for daily operations.
- Effective communication and customer service abilities for interacting with drivers, internal teams, and clients.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills for handling documentation, schedules, and compliance requirements.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to make timely decisions under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic understanding of freight operations, customs processes, and safety standards is preferred.
- Previous experience in logistics, transportation, or dispatch roles is an advantage.
- Ability to work on-site in Ludhiana, Punjab, India, with flexibility for shift-based or extended hours when required.
