Dispatch Network is a mission driven initiative started by Rajit Arya and Navneeth Kannan to tackle the problems plaguing last mile mobility at its roots. Our mission is to reduce costs and increase delivery efficiency across millions of transactions daily. We are seeking a motivated and hands-on Tech Lead to build a massively scalable last-mile mobility platform from the ground up.

Role Overview

As Tech Lead, you will:

• Design and implement Dispatch Network’s backend infrastructure with a focus on geospatial technology.
• Lead development of scalable, microservices-based systems integrating advanced geospatial data processing and real-time location intelligence.
• Apply expertise in geospatial frameworks, data processing, and multi-client API integration to support:
  • Predictive analytics
  • Efficient routing
  • Dynamic resource allocation
• Take a hands-on technical leadership role, mentoring the engineering team.
• Collaborate closely with product teams to deliver high-performance, data-driven solutions for real-time mobility challenges.
  
   

Key Responsibilities

1. Scalable Architecture: Design and implement a microservices-based backend using Go or Java, with geospatial data technologies (H3, S2) for efficient routing, service area analysis, and clustering.
2. Real-Time Data Processing: Build data pipelines using Apache Kafka, Spark, or Flink for high-volume geospatial data processing, demand forecasting, and dynamic decision-making.
3. Multi-Client API Integration: Develop and maintain REST and gRPC APIs for real-time data flow across multiple client systems, ensuring data consistency and reliability.
4. Predictive Modelling: Work with data scientists to implement predictive systems that optimise gig allocation, order prediction, and resource utilisation.
5. Mobile Application Support: Collaborate with mobile developers to deliver a performant rider app using Kotlin or React Native with real-time location tracking and navigation.
6. DevOps and Security: Set up CI/CD pipelines, enforce security best practices, and ensure data protection with AWS Cognito and KMS.
7. Leadership and Collaboration: Mentor the engineering team, guide architectural decisions, and coordinate with product and design teams to align on technical goals and timelines.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Experience: 3+ years in software engineering, preferably in last mile logistics, foodtech, quick commerce, ride-sharing, or e-commerce, with real-time and predictive systems.
  
   
• Technical Skills:
  • Backend: Go, Java, Python; REST/gRPC APIs for multi-client handling.
  • Geospatial: H3, S2, OSRM, Google Maps API, OSM data.
  • Data Engineering: Kafka, Spark/Flink for real-time processing.
  • Cloud: AWS (EC2, Lambda, DynamoDB).
  • Predictive Analytics: Basic understanding of demand forecasting.
  • Database: SQL (PostGIS) and NoSQL (Redis, MongoDB) for geospatial data.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to mentor and guide technical teams, with strong communication and collaboration skills.
