Dispatch Network is a mission driven initiative started by Rajit Arya and Navneeth Kannan to tackle the problems plaguing last mile mobility at its roots. Our mission is to reduce costs and increase delivery efficiency across millions of transactions daily. We are seeking a motivated and hands-on Tech Lead to build a massively scalable last-mile mobility platform from the ground up.

Role Overview

As Tech Lead, you will be driving the development of Dispatch Network’s platform. You will:

• Innovate the space of geospatial real time data processing.
• Build a scalable backend infrastructure capable of handling high-volume traffic and data.
• Implement real-time data analytics for optimal gig assignments and predictive demand forecasting.
• Develop a robust mobile app for riders, ensuring seamless performance under heavy load.
• Lead the technology development, aligning it with business objectives for rapid growth.

Key Responsibilities

1. Design and Implement a Scalable Architecture
   1. Build a microservices-based backend using high-performance languages like Go (Golang) or Java.
   2. Utilize AWS services (EC2, S3, Lambda) and container orchestration tools like Kubernetes for scalability.
   3. Ensure the system can handle millions of real-time transactions with high availability.
   4. Work with geospatial technologies and understand real-time operations. 
2. Develop and Execute the Technology Roadmap
   1. Create a strategic roadmap for MVP development and scaling phases.
   2. Align technology initiatives with business goals for market expansion.
3. Lead Advanced Data Analytics and Real-Time Processing
   1. Build real-time data pipelines using Kafka and process big data with Spark or Flink.
   2. Develop predictive models for demand forecasting and gig optimization.
4. Oversee Mobile Application Development
   1. Develop a high-performance rider app using Kotlin or React Native.
   2. Ensure the app is optimized for speed, reliability, and user experience at scale.
5. Implement DevOps and Security Best Practices
   1. Set up CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and monitoring systems.
   2. Ensure compliance with security standards and data protection regulations.
6. Build and Lead the Engineering Team
   1. Recruit, mentor, and manage a team of engineers.
   2. Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Experience:

• 5+ years in software engineering with a focus on building scalable platforms.
• Proven track record in logistics, ride-sharing, food-tech, q-commerce, e-commerce, or similar high-volume industries.

Technical Expertise:

• Backend: Proficient in Python, Typescript, Go (Golang), Java, or Scala for high-performance systems.
• Architecture: Expert in microservices, distributed systems, and cloud-native applications.
• Cloud Services: Extensive experience with AWS infrastructure and services.
• Data Engineering: Skilled in real-time data streaming (Kafka) and big data processing (Spark, Flink).
• Databases: Proficient with both SQL (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases optimized for scalability.
• Geospatial and Routing: Experience with OSRM, Google Maps API suite or similar routing engines and handling geospatial data at scale.
• Mobile Development: Knowledgeable in Kotlin or cross-platform frameworks like React Native.

Leadership:

• Strong ability to translate business objectives into a scalable technology strategy.
• Experience in building and leading high-performing engineering teams.

Other Qualifications:

• Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive, hands-on approach.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Pune-based or willing to relocate.
