Director / Sr. Director – FPGA Architecture & High-Speed Platform Engineering

Role Summary
We are looking for an experienced Director / Sr. Director – FPGA Architecture & Platform Engineering to lead the design, architecture, and execution of next-generation FPGA-based products and platforms focused on AI Infrastructure, High-Performance Computing (HPC), Aerospace & Defense, and high-speed communication systems.
This leadership role requires strong expertise in FPGA architecture, VHDL/Verilog, PCIe, CXL protocols, and the ability to drive engineering teams from concept to product delivery. The candidate will own technical strategy, architecture decisions, team leadership, customer engagement, and delivery execution across multiple FPGA programs.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership & Architecture
- Own end-to-end FPGA architecture strategy across multiple products and programs.
- Define scalable FPGA platform architectures for high-bandwidth and compute-intensive applications.
- Lead architecture reviews and establish technical roadmaps.
- Drive design decisions involving:
- Performance optimization
- Resource utilization
- Latency reduction
- Power trade-offs
- Establish reusable frameworks and IP strategies.
High-Speed Protocol Ownership
- Drive architecture and implementation strategy for:
- PCIe Gen4/Gen5/Gen6
- CXL (Compute Express Link)
- AXI/AMBA protocols
- High-speed Ethernet interfaces
- Assess and define protocol scalability for future product generations.
- Evaluate protocol adoption and integration strategies.
Mandatory:
- Strong hands-on experience in PCIe development
- Experience in CXL development
- Must clearly indicate:
- Number of years in PCIe
- Number of years in CXL
- Current usage/project exposure
Team Leadership & Program Execution
- Lead and mentor FPGA architects and engineering teams.
- Drive hiring, technical assessments, and capability building.
- Manage multiple programs with ownership of:
- Delivery timelines
- Resource planning
- Technical risks
- Customer commitments
- Establish engineering best practices.
Customer & Stakeholder Engagement
- Engage with customers and leadership teams to understand technical requirements.
- Present architecture solutions and implementation strategies.
- Drive technical discussions and executive reviews.
Required Skills
Must Have
- 10–20 years of experience in FPGA engineering/product development
- Strong expertise in:
- FPGA Architecture
- VHDL / Verilog
- Xilinx / AMD and Intel FPGA platforms
- PCIe
- CXL
- Strong experience in:
- High-speed interfaces
- Multi-clock domain design
- Timing closure
- Hardware debugging
- Strong understanding of:
- FPGA design methodologies
- System architecture
- Hardware-software integration
