Role Overview
We are looking for a seasoned leader to drive global customer acquisition and business development for Geniemode. This role requires a strategic thinker with deep industry knowledge in international sourcing, strong relationships with global brands/retailers, and the ability to convert opportunities into long-term partnerships.
The candidate should be comfortable operating in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and willing to travel internationally to build and scale business.
Key Responsibilities
1. Customer Acquisition & Growth
- Identify, target, and onboard new global brands, retailers, and D2C clients across key markets (US, Europe, etc.)
- Build and execute a structured pipeline for new business development
- Own the complete sales cycle—from prospecting to closure
2. Strategic Business Development
- Develop and implement go-to-market strategies for different geographies and categories
- Leverage industry networks to unlock high-value opportunities
- Drive long-term partnerships with key accounts
3. Relationship Management
- Build strong C-level and senior stakeholder relationships with buyers and sourcing heads
- Represent Geniemode in global meetings, trade shows, and industry forums
4. Market Intelligence
- Track global sourcing trends, competitive landscape, and customer needs
- Provide insights to internal teams for product, pricing, and capability enhancement
5. Cross-functional Collaboration
- Work closely with design, sourcing, merchandising, and operations teams to deliver customer expectations
- Ensure seamless onboarding and execution for new clients
6. Leadership & Team Building
- Mentor and guide the business development team
- Set targets, track performance, and drive accountability
Key Requirements
- Experience: 12–18+ years in business development / sales within sourcing, apparel, retail, or supply chain industry
- Domain Expertise: Strong understanding of international sourcing, product development, and supply chain dynamics
- Network: Established relationships with global brands/retailers (especially US/EU markets preferred)
- Commercial Acumen: Proven track record of closing large deals and scaling accounts
- Mobility: Willingness to travel internationally frequently
- Communication: Excellent negotiation, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
Preferred Background
- Experience working with buying houses, sourcing companies, or global retailers
- Exposure to multiple product categories (menswear, womenswear, kidswear, etc.)
- Familiarity with fast fashion / D2C business models
