Role Overview:
The Director of school organizes, directs, evaluates, and supervises the teaching staff and takes appropriate decisions to improve the teaching, learning and research activities in a school. The Director provides instructional leadership, develops and implements curriculum and detailed teaching plans for the academic programs. He/she reports to the VC and the Dean as the case may be. He/she has the following duties and responsibilities.
1. To monitor the faculty and student attendance, day-to-day activities of the school, and to maintain discipline in the school.
2. To work in tandem with the HOD, Academic coordinators, Course Coordinators, Program Chairs and Teachers to improve the teaching and learning processes.
3. To prepare the academic calendar of the School, integrating the events, Exams, and Occasions in consultation with the Registrar, Registrar Evaluation, and Dean.
4. To plan and execute regular faculty meetings, orientations, training programs, faculty development programs, and workshops.
5. To support and participate in School and community-related activities.
6. To plan the budget, and schedule the resources for School and community-related activities.
7. To coordinate with the Academic departments in sharing faculty and other educational and instructional ideas and activities.
8. To develop educational processes, interactive educational programs, and policies to meet the curriculum goals.
9. To manage faculty resources, administrative staff members and other resources of the School and set the workload of the faculties.
10.To order and stock books, periodicals, e-resources, and other library supplies as needed by the School in co-ordination with the department faculties and the library.
11.To help the School to create flyers, banners, brochures, and other promotional materials.
12.To oversee faculty recruitment, retention, and continuing professional development including particular attention to recruiting and retaining faculty of diverse backgrounds.
13.To plan and run the online courses as per the requirements of the programs.
14.To plan the faculty recruitment, duties of the professors of practice, and industry linkage programs.
15.To develop the journals and to set the publication requirements of the faculties in different programs under different streams.
16.To assist and promote the Student Admission process in different programs of the university.
17.To represent the School and the University through participation in community and corporate activities, meetings, and events across the region and the country.
18.To setup incubation centers, centers of excellence, and modern laboratories for the students as mentioned in the vision and mission statements, and core values of the university.
19.To arrange the training and placement programs for the students in coordination with the university.
20.To promote the student exchange programs through national and international exchange programs for students through the OIR. Facilitation of Global Immersion Programme for students and faculty.
21.To plan and organize conferences and workshops at-least one in each academic year.
Education:
- Master’s Degree and Ph.D (Doctor of Philosophy) in relevant field.
- 10 years of work experience as a professor and serving as HOD or Director for 3 years. (Additional Qualification).
Experience Required:
- 20 yrs + preferred Corporate Experience.
Skills Required:
- Teaching and Research Experience related discipline and patents, administrative and academic leadership.
- Leadership and Management Skills, Curriculum development, Accreditation Knowledge, Industry Connection, Communication and Networking skills, People management skill.
