Position Overview:
The Director of Salesforce CoE is a strategic and operational leader responsible for driving excellence across the Salesforce ecosystem. This role oversees the Salesforce development, governance, release management, and innovation initiatives. The Director will lead a high-performing team of developers, architects, and consultants in delivering scalable, secure, and business-aligned Salesforce solutions. This role also serves as a key liaison between business units and technology teams, ensuring alignment with enterprise goals and maximizing platform ROI.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
- Define and execute the Salesforce CoE operating model and long-term roadmap aligned with enterprise digital transformation goals.
- Partner with business leaders across Sales, Marketing, Service, and Regulatory to translate needs into a prioritized Salesforce backlog.
- Champion platform ROI through data-driven decision-making and stakeholder engagement.
- Lead strategic planning sessions and quarterly business reviews to align Salesforce initiatives with evolving business priorities.
- Drive enterprise-wide adoption of Salesforce capabilities through executive sponsorship and change management.
- Manage and Nurture talent by providing leadership, technical direction and mentorship to maintain a high-performing, highly engaged team.
- Build and foster relationship for a close collaboration with the HQ teams – bridge between regional execution and global vision.
Governance & Standards:
- Establish and enforce standards for development, release management, security, and data quality.
- Lead DevOps practices and ensure compliance with HIPAA, SOC 2, and internal policies.
- Drive adoption of reusable assets and innovation pilots (AI, Data Cloud, Hyperforce).
- Implement scalable governance models across multi-org environments to ensure consistency and audit readiness.
- Define and monitor KPIs for release velocity, defect rates, and platform stability.
Platform Oversight:
- Manage multi-org Salesforce environments including Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Marketing Cloud, Experience Cloud, and Health Cloud.
- Oversee technical architecture, environment strategy, and release cycles.
- Reduce technical debt and ensure platform scalability and maintainability.
Team & Vendor Management:
- Build and mentor a team of Salesforce professionals.
- Manage relationships with Salesforce, system integrators, and third-party vendors.
- Negotiate contracts and ensure timely, high-quality delivery.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement:
- Stay current with Salesforce product releases and industry trends.
- Lead pilots and drive adoption of emerging technologies.
- Implement training programs and support models to boost user adoption.
- Foster a culture of innovation by encouraging experimentation and cross-functional ideation.
Key Metrics / KPIs:
- Standards adoption rate
- Release success rate
- Platform ROI (value vs. spend)
- Innovation pilot-to-adoption ratio
- Utilization and stakeholder satisfaction
- Incident and defect trends post-release
Qualifications:
Education:
- Master’s/Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field (MBA preferred)
Experience:
- 15+ years in Salesforce technical leadership roles (Lead, Architect, Manager)
- 5+ years in healthcare, pharma, or regulated industries
- Proven success in large-scale Salesforce transformations (e.g., Classic to Lightning)
- Experience managing large teams and vendor ecosystems
Skills:
- Deep expertise in Salesforce clouds and integrations
- Strong understanding of CI/CD, API management, and environment strategy
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks (HIPAA, SOX, GDPR)
