Role Description
The Director – Policy & Advocacy is a full-time, on-site role based in Abroad, responsible for leading Esse India’s policy, advocacy, and stakeholder engagement initiatives. This role involves monitoring immigration policy developments, analyzing regulatory changes, and advising internal teams on their implications for clients and operations. The Director will design and implement advocacy strategies, cultivate relationships with relevant legislative and regulatory bodies, and represent the organization in meetings, forums, and industry associations. Daily tasks include overseeing research projects, managing policy-related communications, coordinating cross-functional projects, and guiding the development of policy briefs, position papers, and thought leadership content. The role also includes mentoring team members, aligning advocacy efforts with organizational strategy, and ensuring that all initiatives support ethical, client-centered immigration consulting.
Qualifications
- Strong Communication skills, including the ability to present complex policy issues clearly to diverse stakeholders.
- Experience in Legislative Relations, including engagement with government agencies, regulatory bodies, or policy-making institutions.
- Proficiency in Project Management to plan, execute, and monitor advocacy and policy initiatives across multiple teams.
- Demonstrated Strategic Planning capabilities to align policy and advocacy work with organizational goals and long-term vision.
- Advanced Research skills for analyzing immigration policies, regulations, and emerging trends.
- Relevant postgraduate or professional degree in Public Policy, Law, International Relations, Political Science, or a related field.
- Experience in immigration, legal services, public affairs, or a similar regulated service environment is highly beneficial.
- Ability to lead diverse teams, work collaboratively across departments, and uphold high ethical and professional standards.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with attention to detail and compliance.
