About the organisation :
A founder-led private university in India, built on a strong legacy in creative education and now expanding into a broader multidisciplinary model. The institution currently offers undergraduate and postgraduate programmes across design and management with a clear focus on industry relevance and future-ready learning.
This role will play a critical part in building employer relationships and driving internships and placements across the institution, with an immediate focus on existing design and management programmes and a growing mandate as newer schools mature.
Key Responsibilities :
- Own final placement and internship outcomes across the university, with clear targets and accountability.
- Build strong relationships with large employers and senior corporate leaders, and convert those relationships into real hiring opportunities for students.
- Drive employer acquisition with a sharp focus on quality of recruiters, relevance of roles, and consistency of hiring outcomes.
- Lead and manage the placements team with high execution discipline, strong follow-through, and a clear performance rhythm.
- Build robust processes for employer mapping, outreach, recruiter engagement, account management, campus visits, interview coordination, and closure.
- Strengthen the institutions credibility with companies, especially in areas where the university brand is still new or less established.
- Work closely with senior leadership and academic teams to understand programme strengths and present students effectively to industry.
- Track recruiter pipelines, internship conversion, placement outcomes, and team performance through clear reporting, reviews, and action plans.
- Improve the quality, predictability, and scale of the placement function so outcomes do not depend only on individual effort or last-minute push.
- Support broader corporate relationships where relevant, while keeping placements and internships as the clear priority.
Candidate Requirements :
- Postgraduate qualification in business, management, marketing, communications, HR, or a related field.
- 12+ years of relevant experience in placements, corporate relations, business development, institutional partnerships, or other relationship-led roles where outcomes were expected and tracked.
- Strong access to senior decision-makers in large and well-regarded organisations, with the credibility to open doors and build meaningful employer relationships.
- Proven track record of converting relationships into tangible outcomes such as placements, internships, partnerships, recruiter engagement, or business growth.
- Strong execution orientation. This role requires someone who can set targets, drive follow-through, and deliver results consistently, not just maintain relationships.
- Experience building and leading teams, with the ability to create discipline, review rhythm, and process in a high-accountability environment.
- Ability to represent a growing institution credibly in the market and build recruiter confidence, especially where the brand is still being established.
- Strong judgment and communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with CEOs, CHROs, business heads, and senior internal stakeholders.
- Comfortable working in an evolving, growth-stage environment where the person will need to build, push, and improve rather than inherit a fully mature system.
