About the Role
A leading Business School in Mumbai is looking to appoint a dynamic Director – Placement & Development Cell to lead its placement strategy, corporate engagement and student career development initiatives.
The role will be responsible for building strong, sustained relationships with leading corporates, strengthening placement and internship opportunities, and enhancing students' overall career outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the School’s placement and corporate engagement strategy across management programmes.
- Build strong relationships with CHROs, CXOs, recruiters and industry leaders across BFSI, Consulting, IT, FMCG, Manufacturing and other key sectors.
- Drive the complete campus placement lifecycle, from recruiter engagement and pre-placement talks to interviews and offer management.
- Develop high-quality summer and final internship opportunities, including opportunities leading to PPOs.
- Strengthen the School’s corporate network and create long-term industry partnerships beyond recruitment.
- Lead career development initiatives including career counselling, resume building, mock interviews, aptitude preparation and corporate readiness programmes.
- Work closely with faculty and academic leadership to identify industry skill gaps and strengthen student employability.
- Leverage the alumni network for mentorship, industry engagement and placement opportunities.
- Track placement performance, recruiter feedback, compensation trends and industry demand to continuously improve outcomes.
- Lead and mentor the Placement & Development Cell, establishing clear targets and performance metrics.
Candidate Profile
- Master’s degree; MBA/PGDM preferred.
- 10–15 years of relevant experience, with at least 5 years in a senior role in corporate HR, recruitment, campus relations, placements or business development.
- Strong and active corporate network, particularly across sectors relevant to management education.
- Proven track record in improving placement outcomes, recruiter relationships and student employability.
- Strong understanding of the Mumbai corporate and business ecosystem.
- Excellent relationship-building, negotiation, communication and leadership skills.
- A results-oriented professional with strong industry orientation and institutional commitment.
