About Aspire Institute and Aspiring Leaders India Foundation
Aspire Institute runs the world’s largest free leadership development program for first-generation and limited-income learners and early-career professionals, alongside a fee-based, AI-integrated leadership program for a future-ready workforce. Our mission is to equip talented, underserved learners with the leadership skills needed for career success and economic mobility.
Aspire’s global work is anchored by our Cambridge headquarters and strengthened by “Foundries”—local hubs that build partnerships, expand access, and connect communities to Aspire’s global platform. Aspiring Leaders India Foundation (ALIF) is one of six global Foundries and supports high-potential, underserved youth across India through online leadership development programs, mentorship, and access to a global peer network.
About the Role of ALIF Director of Outreach and Marketing
This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for driving application and enrollment growth in India while strengthening Aspire’s brand and public profile. You will own India’s outreach strategy and applicant funnel, lead PR and partnerships for recruitment, and build the India Marketing & Communications function in close coordination with ALIF leadership and global teams.
Key Responsibilities
● Growth & Funnel Ownership: Own annual application and enrollment targets; manage the end-to-end funnel and KPIs across channels (digital, events, campus/community outreach, referrals, partnerships, and paid media as needed).
● Campaign Execution & Optimization: Plan and run integrated campaigns; improve conversion, lead quality, and cost per applicant through testing and performance analysis.
● Brand & Messaging: Ensure consistent voice and messaging across India-facing communications; align local execution with global brand standards and recruitment timelines.
● PR & Communications: Lead India PR and earned media strategy; develop stories and write/edit outreach materials across web, social, print, video, and partner toolkits.
● Recruitment Partnerships: Build and manage a scalable recruitment ecosystem (universities/colleges, companies, NGOs, youth networks, influencers); develop co-marketing plans and track partner performance.
● Team, Budget & Operations: Build and lead the India Marketing & Communications team (including interns/volunteers as relevant); manage vendors; own the annual budget; set up workflows, dashboards, and operating cadence.
● Reporting & Tools: Maintain clean pipeline data and reporting using Aspire’s CRM/LMS and analytics; strengthen lifecycle communications (email/SMS/WhatsApp where appropriate).
● Donor-Facing Support (as needed): Produce donor-facing collateral (impact stories, newsletters, annual highlights) in partnership with ALIF leadership and HQ.
Candidate Profile
● 5–8 years of experience in marketing, communications, outreach, or growth roles, with people management or clear cross-functional leadership.
● Proven track record of driving measurable audience, pipeline, or enrollment growth.
● Strong performance marketing and funnel mindset paired with sound brand judgment.
● Excellent writing/editing and storytelling skills across formats.
● Experience building partnerships and influencing external stakeholders.
● Comfort with KPIs, dashboards, and ROI-based decision-making.
● Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Marketing, Communications, PR, Business, or related field.
● Familiarity with tools such as Google Analytics, CRM platforms (e.g., Full Fabric, HubSpot, Salesforce), and email platforms (e.g., Mailchimp).
Preferred
● Experience scaling outreach during rapid growth.
● Experience in education, youth programs, non-profits, startups, or international development.
● PR/media relations experience in India.
● Experience coordinating with distributed/global teams.
What Success Looks Like (12–18 months)
● Meet or exceed annual applicant growth and enrollment targets (250,000–500,000) with repeatable channel playbooks.
● Improved funnel conversion and disciplined KPI reporting.
● A high-performing recruitment partner ecosystem producing qualified applicants at scale.
● Stronger public presence and consistent narrative for Aspire India.
● A functioning India Marketing & Communications team and vendor bench with clear operating rhythm.
