Ask Ayurveda

Job details:
Ask Ayurveda is one of the leading platforms in digital Ayurveda.
The partner channel is already up and running. We're looking for a leader who will take ownership of it and bring it to the next level: more active doctors, deeper relationships with manufacturer brands, and more systematic engagement with the professional community.
This is a role for someone who knows the Indian Ayurveda market from the inside — who's who among practitioners, how trust works in this environment, how brands communicate, and how associations and academic circles operate.
Location: India
Reports to: CEO
Format: Full-time, fixed salary + KPI-based channel bonus + stock options
Responsibilities:
- Own the partner channel as a business line: strategy, KPIs, P&L, quarterly targets for GMV and active doctors.
- Grow the doctor network: acquisition of new BAMS/MD Ayurveda partners, onboarding, activation, and retention. Build out Doctor Success processes and manage regional BD managers.
- Manage relationships with manufacturer brands: commercial terms, assortment, exclusives, marketing collaborations, logistics, and SLAs.
- Represent the company in the professional community: associations, academic institutions, industry conferences and exhibitions, trade media.
- Hire and develop the channel team: BD, Key Account Managers, Doctor Success.
- Be the "voice of the market" inside the company — bring the real needs of practicing vaidyas to the product team.
Requirements:
Must-haves:
- 7+ years of experience in business development, partnerships, channel sales, or category management in the Indian market; at least 2–3 of those in a leadership role managing a team.
- Deep understanding of the Ayurveda market or adjacent verticals: pharma distribution, healthtech, nutraceuticals, wellness, medical devices.
- An existing network in one or more of the following: practicing BAMS/MD Ayurveda doctors, Ayurvedic clinics and hospitals, distributors of classical and proprietary medicines, professional associations.
- Understanding of how an Ayurvedic doctor makes decisions: the role of traditional schools (Kerala, Rajasthan, Maharashtra), attitudes toward classical formulations vs. proprietary medicines, and regional specifics.
- Experience negotiating directly with manufacturer brands on commercial terms and partnership programs.
- English — fluent.
Nice to have:
- Formal education in Ayurveda (BAMS or higher) or experience working inside the Ayurvedic industry.
- Experience in a startup environment and working with product teams.
- Understanding of the regulatory landscape for ASU drugs.
- Interest in the international Ayurveda market — we're looking beyond India.
What matters in the person:
- Systematic but hands-on: equally comfortable with unit-economics spreadsheets and sitting down face-to-face with a vaidya at a regional clinic.
- Respect for the tradition of Ayurveda combined with modern product-oriented, data-driven thinking.
- Willingness to travel extensively across the country.
- Independence and the ability to truly own a business line, not just execute tasks.
What we offer:
- A leadership role with direct impact on company and product strategy.
- Competitive fixed compensation + bonus scheme tied to channel growth.
- Stock option program.
- Budget for travel, industry conferences, and professional development.
