Job Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced Operations Director to lead and oversee airline operations in Chad. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant flight and ground operations, while driving operational excellence, cost efficiency, and regulatory compliance in line with international aviation standards.
This is a senior leadership role requiring strong operational expertise, regulatory knowledge, and the ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams in a challenging and dynamic operating environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day airline operations, including flight operations, ground handling, dispatch, maintenance coordination, and airport services.
- Ensure full compliance with national aviation authorities, ICAO standards, and company operational manuals.
- Develop, implement, and monitor operational policies, procedures, and performance KPIs.
- Coordinate with Civil Aviation Authorities, airport operators, service providers, and internal stakeholders.
- Lead safety management systems (SMS) and promote a strong safety culture across all operational functions.
- Optimize operational costs while maintaining high safety and service standards.
- Manage operational disruptions, irregular operations (IROPs), and emergency response situations.
- Supervise and mentor operational managers and teams, ensuring continuous training and development.
- Support fleet utilization, route planning, and operational readiness for expansion or new routes.
- Prepare and present operational reports to senior management and shareholders.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum 10–15 years of experience in airline operations, with at least 5 years in a senior management role.
- Strong knowledge of airline operations, safety regulations, and compliance frameworks.
- Proven experience working in Africa or emerging aviation markets is highly desirable.
- Excellent leadership, decision-making, and crisis management skills.
- Strong communication skills in English (French is a strong advantage).
- Ability to work under pressure and manage complex operational environments.
