What You Will Be Doing
- Designing and continuously refining an AI-powered learning ecosystem that demonstrably surpasses conventional education, validated by concrete improvements in student performance metrics
- Interacting directly with students via virtual channels to comprehend their learning journeys, obstacles, and achievements, applying these insights to drive ongoing refinement of the learning ecosystem
- Analyzing learning platform data to identify actionable insights and create high-impact academic interventions using AI/ML, learning science, and motivational strategies
- Fostering a culture of ambitious experimentation and evidence-driven decision-making, utilizing data to achieve breakthrough improvements in student growth patterns
- Collaborating with platform engineering, data science, and design teams to convert academic insights and student input into fluid product improvements
What You Won’t Be Doing
- Wrapping traditional instruction in AI packaging. This isn't about delivering classroom teaching through digital screens – we're rebuilding learning from its foundation.
- Working with data in a vacuum. You'll regularly interact with K-12 students, treating their feedback as critical input from our customers.
- Waiting for unanimous approval before innovating. You'll advance a bold vision and mobilize others around measurable outcomes.
- Adhering to established methods. You'll have the freedom to test novel approaches to motivation, assessment, and teaching.
- Viewing AI as a threat to education. In this role, you'll embrace AI as a powerful tool to transform learning, not a risk to manage.
Director Of Learning Key Responsibilities
Lead innovation in AI-driven, teacher-less education to produce outstanding student results across multiple campuses. Combine data analysis with consistent student interaction to continually optimize our learning ecosystem, measured by AP exam scores and MAP assessment gains.
Basic Requirements
- Master's degree or higher in Educational Science, Learning Science, Psychology, Psychometrics, Instructional Design, or a related field
- Leadership experience in education or EdTech
- Experience applying AI technologies in an educational or professional context
- Experience designing and implementing AI systems for tasks such as content generation, data analysis, or adaptive learning
- Strong understanding of learning science principles and data-driven educational approaches
- Proven ability to communicate complex educational and technical concepts to diverse audiences
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing complex projects

Working with us
This is a full-time (40 hours per week), long-term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $100 USD/hour, which equates to $200,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
