Role - Director of Knowledge Graph & Entity Intelligence
CiteWorks Studio is hiring a Director of Knowledge Graph & Entity Intelligence to lead pioneering research into how Large Language Models (LLMs) identify brands, resolve ambiguity, and determine which organizations earn the status of a "Trusted Reference.
In an era where ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Perplexity are the primary interfaces for information, understanding the "Entity Layer" is the new frontier of brand authority.
As Director, you will lead the research that explains how AI systems connect the dots between people, companies, products, and topics. You will deconstruct how knowledge graphs and structured data influence whether a brand is cited as an authority or lost in the noise of generative synthesis.
What is Knowledge Graph & Entity Intelligence?
It is the study of how AI systems identify real-world entities and connect them to trusted attributes and sources. For modern LLMs and Generative Search, this includes:
- Entity Recognition: How brands are identified across billions of data points.
- Source Association: How AI connects an entity to its "authoritative" reference.
- Entity Resolution: The process of resolving ambiguity between similar names or concepts.
- Structured Influence: How schema and metadata drive retrieval and summarization.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Entity Research: Map how brands, products, and people appear across the outputs of major LLMs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, etc.).
- Analyze Relationship Graphs: Study how connections between entities and publishers influence AI citation behavior and recommendation logic.
- Build Authority Frameworks: Develop measurable systems to track entity-level visibility, authority, and "trust signals" across AI platforms.
- Address Ambiguity: Identify where entity confusion occurs and how it impacts AI-generated answers for enterprise brands.
- Collaborate on Infrastructure: Partner with Data and ML teams to build systems that track entity-level behavior in generative search at scale.
- Publish Thought Leadership: Produce industry-leading research on Knowledge Graph construction and trusted-source formation.
Research Areas You Will Explore
- Entity Disambiguation: How AI distinguishes between similar global brands and concepts.
- Schema & Metadata Signals: The impact of structured data on LLM "understanding."
- Source Authority Mapping: Identifying which references become the "canonical" truth for specific entities.
- Trusted Reference Formation: Determining why some organizations become recurring citations while others are ignored.
Qualifications Required:
- 8+ years in Knowledge Systems, Information Retrieval, Data Science, or AI Research.
- Deep Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of entity resolution, knowledge graph construction, and semantic search.
- Leadership: Experience leading research or technical teams in high-complexity information environments.
- Strategic Vision: Ability to translate abstract entity-linking concepts into practical research frameworks for brands.
Preferred:
- Familiarity with RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) and its reliance on entity extraction.
- Background in Ontology Design or Semantic Web technologies.
- Experience comparing entity-level performance across multiple LLM environments.
Why Join CiteWorks Studio?
We are an AI research and Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) firm dedicated to the science of how LLMs retrieve and cite information. This role sits at the frontier of AI search research, giving you the opportunity to define how the world's most influential companies are represented in the age of AI.
At CiteWorks, we don’t just track links; we map the Intelligence Layer of the web.
Key Terminology We Define
- Knowledge Graph: A structured map of entities used for AI reasoning.
- Entity Intelligence: The analysis of how brands are identified and interpreted by AI.
- Entity Resolution: Determining when different records refer to the same real-world brand.
- Generative Search: Synthesizing answers instead of returning ranked links.
