The candidate must have the ability to independently create, review, understand, and explain financial statements, including:
- Income Statement / Profit & Loss Statement (P&L)
- Balance Sheet
- Cash Flow Statement
The individual should understand how transactions flow through the financial statements and be able to identify errors, inconsistencies, unusual trends, and areas requiring management attention.
The role will prepare monthly financial reporting for company leadership and provide clear explanations of actual results versus budget and forecast.

- Maintain visibility into the company's current cash position.
- Prepare and maintain short- and long-term cash-flow forecasts.
- Forecast expected customer collections and company expenditures.
- Manage the timing of accounts receivable and accounts payable.
- Identify potential cash-flow issues before they occur.

- Hands-on experience with accounts receivable, customer invoicing, and collections.
- Experience personally following up with customers regarding outstanding invoices.
- Experience managing accounts payable and vendor payments.
- Strong understanding of cash-flow management and cash-flow forecasting.
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and management reporting.
- Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Comfortable communicating directly with U.S.-based customers, vendors, accountants, and executives.
- Ability to work independently and take complete ownership of assigned responsibilities.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify and resolve financial discrepancies.
- Comfortable operating in a small, entrepreneurial, fast-growing company where responsibilities may extend beyond a traditional job description.
- Experience with SaaS, technology, healthcare, or recurring-revenue businesses is preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
- CA, CPA, CMA, MBA, or similar qualification is a plus.
Important: This Is a Hands-On Individual-Contributor Role
SimpleChime is a small and growing U.S. company. This role is not about managing a large finance department or delegating accounting work to others.
The successful candidate will personally perform much of the company's finance and accounting work.
On any given day, that could mean:
Entering or reviewing transactions in QuickBooks → reconciling bank accounts → sending customer invoices → following up on overdue invoices → reviewing cash flow → preparing the monthly P&L → analyzing financial performance → discussing results with company leadership.
We are looking for someone who is comfortable operating at both levels: doing the accounting work accurately and understanding what the numbers mean for the business.
- The ideal candidate takes ownership of the company's financial processes and ensures that the books, billing, collections, reporting, and cash management are accurate, timely, and well controlled.
