Build the Future of Energy Trading Technology
Gravitas ETRM is building a next-generation cloud-native Energy Trading & Risk Management (ETRM) platform designed for modern commodity, energy, and trading firms.
We are looking for a Founding Director of Engineering / Product Builder to join us full-time in an equity-only leadership role and help architect, build, and scale the Gravitas ETRM platform from the ground up.
This is not a conventional corporate job.

The Opportunity
We are seeking a hands-on engineering leader who wants to build a globally scalable enterprise product rather than simply work on tickets inside an existing company.
You will work directly with the founder to:
- Define product architecture
- Build the engineering organization
- Lead platform development
- Drive technical strategy
- Build MVPs and enterprise modules
- Shape the long-term product roadmap
- Participate in future fundraising and growth strategy
This role is ideal for someone who:

Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end product engineering for Gravitas ETRM
- Architect scalable cloud-native systems and microservices
- Build modern full-stack enterprise applications
- Establish engineering standards, CI/CD, DevOps, and release practices
- Design APIs, event-driven systems, and real-time workflows
- Build and mentor the engineering team
- Work closely with domain experts in trading, risk, and operations
- Drive AI integration and intelligent workflow automation
- Participate in strategic technology and product decisions
- Contribute to investor discussions and technical roadmap presentations
Preferred Technical Background
Minimum 10+ years of Strong experience in several of the following:
- Full-stack product engineering
- SaaS platform architecture
- React / Next.js / TypeScript
- Node.js / Python / Java
- Cloud-native systems (AWS / Azure / GCP)
- Docker / Kubernetes / DevOps
- Distributed systems and APIs
- Data engineering and analytics platforms
- Real-time systems and workflow orchestration
- Enterprise software architecture
Ideal Background
- Former startup founder or early engineering employee
- Built enterprise SaaS platforms
- Experience in fintech, trading systems, ETRM/CTRM, or capital markets is highly valuable
- Strong product mindset and ownership mentality
- Comfortable operating in ambiguity and fast-moving environments
- Interested in long-term value creation through equity participation
Compensation
- Full-time founding role
- Equity-only initially

- Future salary structure planned post funding/revenue milestones
