About the RoleLiquidity.io, SecureGate AI, and Authenticated.ai are seeking a highly technical, execution-oriented Director of Engineering to lead platform architecture, AI initiatives, infrastructure strategy, and engineering operations across our fintech, identity, security, and AI platforms.
This role combines engineering leadership, DevOps ownership, AI-native product execution, and large-scale program management. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable driving executive-level technical strategy, managing globally distributed engineering teams, and contributing hands-on to architecture, infrastructure, and delivery execution.
You will work closely with executive leadership, product, operations, compliance, and security teams to scale highly secure, reliable, AI-driven systems operating in regulated environments.
ResponsibilitiesEngineering Leadership & Strategy- Provide strategic leadership and direction to the engineering organization, fostering a culture of innovation, operational excellence, accountability, and collaboration.
- Define and execute the long-term technical roadmap across Liquidity.io, SecureGate AI, and Authenticated.ai platforms.
- Lead architecture, infrastructure, and platform modernization initiatives to support scalability, reliability, performance, and security.
- Recruit, mentor, and develop high-performing engineering teams while establishing strong career development and organizational growth practices.
- Evaluate emerging technologies, AI tooling, infrastructure platforms, and engineering productivity solutions to maintain technical leadership and competitive advantage.
AI-Native Engineering & Platform Development- Drive adoption of AI-assisted engineering workflows using Claude, OpenAI, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, and related technologies to significantly improve development velocity and product quality.
- Establish engineering standards for AI integration, prompt engineering, model evaluation, vector databases, embeddings, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and agentic workflows.
- Lead development and deployment of AI-enhanced applications, infrastructure, and automation systems.
- Architect and oversee scalable cloud-native systems supporting regulated fintech, identity, security, and AI platforms.
Trading Systems & Infrastructure- Lead the design, development, and deployment of high-performance, highly available trading systems and infrastructure supporting alternative asset and ATS exchange operations.
- Ensure systems are scalable, secure, observable, and resilient using modern DevOps, Infrastructure-as-Code, and cloud engineering practices.
- Oversee CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes orchestration, infrastructure automation, monitoring, incident management, disaster recovery, and production operations.
- Drive platform security, reliability, uptime, and operational maturity through disciplined engineering and operational controls.
Compliance, Security & Regulatory Coordination- Collaborate closely with compliance, legal, and regulatory teams to ensure platform compliance with applicable financial services and security regulations.
- Partner with security stakeholders to implement enterprise-grade cybersecurity practices, secure software development lifecycle (SSDLC) controls, and audit readiness procedures.
- Support regulated infrastructure involving broker-dealer operations, alternative trading systems (ATS), digital assets, transfer agency systems, identity verification, and AI security platforms.
Program Management & Cross-Functional Execution- Lead complex cross-functional programs from concept through launch, including roadmap planning, dependency management, resource allocation, risk mitigation, and milestone delivery.
- Implement and operate structured engineering management frameworks including OKRs, executive dashboards, roadmap tracking, KPI reporting, and portfolio management processes.
- Provide executive-ready reporting and technical updates to the CEO, Board, and senior leadership stakeholders.
- Drive disciplined operational cadences including weekly engineering reviews, monthly business updates, quarterly planning, and board-level reporting.
Global Team Leadership- Coordinate work across globally distributed engineering and product teams, including teams located in India and the United States.
- Establish communication norms, collaboration practices, overlapping work schedules, and operational processes to support highly effective remote-first execution.
- Foster a high-trust, high-performance culture across geographically distributed teams and organizational functions.
Requirements- Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 7+ years of engineering leadership, program management, or large-scale technical delivery experience in technology, fintech, AI, or regulated infrastructure environments.
- Proven success building and scaling high-performing engineering organizations and distributed technical teams.
- Strong hands-on experience with AI/LLM technologies including Claude, OpenAI APIs, embeddings, vector databases, AI agents, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) systems.
- Extensive experience designing and operating scalable cloud infrastructure on AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- Strong expertise with DevOps and infrastructure tooling including Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, GitHub Actions, CI/CD pipelines, observability systems, and Infrastructure-as-Code practices.
- Deep understanding of distributed systems architecture, system reliability, security engineering, and production operational controls.
- Experience building or supporting low-latency, high-throughput financial systems, trading platforms, exchange infrastructure, or regulated transaction systems is strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of financial markets, fintech infrastructure, compliance requirements, and regulated platform operations.
- Experience operating in broker-dealer, alternative trading system (ATS), digital asset, transfer agency, cybersecurity, identity, or AI platform environments is highly desirable.
- Proven ability to communicate complex technical and regulatory concepts clearly to executives, board members, regulators, partners, and non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities across multiple products and rapidly evolving business objectives.
- Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, organizational, and decision-making capabilities.
- Prior experience leading globally distributed engineering teams, including teams based in India, is strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with AI infrastructure, GPU workloads, inference optimization, and production AI deployment pipelines is a plus.
