We now need a leader who can align execution across varied school contexts, elevate standards of academic leadership, and serve as the authoritative public voice for a movement built on evidence-based learning science.
This role is not about academic theory in isolation. It is a leadership imperative. You will own academic strategy in action, establish rigorous standards, diagnose execution shortfalls, and develop high-performing teams that produce tangible student outcomes. You will convert our scientific foundation into operational excellence and champion this model on a global stage.
What You Will Be Doing
- Designing academic frameworks that bridge learning science with actionable guidance for curriculum development, motivation architecture, and application design.
- Conducting academic execution reviews with Heads of Academics to ensure school teams maintain alignment, accountability, and performance standards.
- Analyzing data, conducting interviews, and observing practice to produce comprehensive academic ecosystem reviews that pinpoint high-impact obstacles to accelerated learning and recommend targeted interventions.
- Ensuring strategic coherence through planning cycles, feedback mechanisms, and milestone monitoring to sustain focus on student learning objectives.
- Serving as the public face of 2 Hour Learning in high-profile settings, including keynote presentations and engagements with Ministries of Education, to advance systemic transformation in global education.

- Producing theoretical research disconnected from measurable student outcomes or operational execution.
- Transferring performance accountability to middle management or external consultants.
- Depending on institutional reputation or abstract theory to win over critical audiences.
Director Of Educational Strategy Key Responsibilities
Lead the scaling and refinement of 2 Hour Learning's validated academic model by driving unified execution across all schools, raising leadership performance standards, and establishing yourself as the authoritative public advocate for a movement anchored in rigorous science and documented results.
Basic Requirements
- Advanced degree (Masters or Ph.D) in Learning Science, Educational Psychology, Instructional Design, or a related field
- At least 7 years in academic or EdTech leadership roles, leading a team of staff/employees (not an informal peer leader role, such as grade-level lead); you must have been responsible for hiring, monitoring performance, coaching, and making termination decisions
- Experience driving learning outcomes for students and upholding student performance standards
- Experience applying AI or emerging technologies to improve education, such as through personalized learning, adaptive learning, AI agents, etc.
- Experience managing academic teams of 50+ people (e.g., the teams you managed directly executed curriculum, instruction, or assessment)
- Experience interacting directly with students, teachers, or school leaders in a professional setting

Working with us
This is a full-time (40 hours per week), long-term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $200 USD/hour, which equates to $400,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
