A global technology and semiconductor company is expanding its business operations in India and is seeking a highly experienced commercial and government relations leader to support strategic growth initiatives across the OEM and electronics ecosystem.
This position will play a critical role in driving OEM business development, strengthening relationships with government and regulatory stakeholders, and supporting the company’s long-term market expansion strategy in India.
Role Overview
- We are seeking an experienced senior-level professional to lead OEM business development activities while also supporting strategic government and stakeholder engagement initiatives across India.
- The successful candidate will work closely with senior leadership to develop key customer relationships, support government affairs activities, and position the company as a premium technology partner within the Indian electronics and manufacturing ecosystem.
- This role requires a commercially driven leader with strong relationship management capabilities, deep understanding of India’s OEM/electronics landscape, and the ability to operate effectively across both corporate and government environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and coordinate government affairs activities in collaboration with senior leadership
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key government officials, ministries, regulatory authorities, and industry stakeholders
- Assist in preparing executive presentations, reports, briefing materials, and strategic documentation for leadership meetings and industry engagements
- Lead OEM business development activities with major customers across India
- Develop strategic relationships with OEMs, EMS providers, and ecosystem partners
- Promote differentiated technology and value-based solutions rather than price-driven competition
- Collaborate with EMS partners to execute large-scale OEM projects leveraging proprietary technologies and intellectual property
- Drive premium revenue growth strategies within the Indian market
- Identify new business opportunities and support market expansion initiatives
- Represent the company at industry forums, customer meetings, and government-related engagements
- Coordinate cross-functional activities with internal global and regional teams
- Support strategic initiatives related to manufacturing, localization, and business expansion in India
Requirements
- 15+ years of experience within OEM sales, business development, government relations, semiconductor, electronics, LED, EMS, or related industries
- Strong network within India’s electronics, manufacturing, OEM, or government ecosystem
- Proven experience managing senior stakeholder relationships
- Strong understanding of the Indian regulatory and business environment
- Experience working with OEMs, EMS companies, or technology-focused industrial businesses
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and highly dynamic international environment
- Willingness to travel extensively within India when required
- Strong commercial mindset with strategic business development capabilities
Preferred Background
- Semiconductor / LED / Electronics industry experience
- Government affairs or public policy exposure within industrial sectors
- Experience engaging with ministries, regulatory agencies, or industry associations
- Strong understanding of India’s manufacturing, localization, or “Make in India” ecosystem
