2 Hour Learning has developed a model in which students achieve twice the learning velocity in only two hours per day. This is made possible through AI-based tutoring, mastery-driven progression, and a fundamental break from traditional classroom design. The results are strong. We now need a leader who can align execution across varied school environments, elevate academic leadership standards, and serve as the public advocate for a movement rooted in disciplined learning science.
This is not a position for abstract theory. It is a leadership charge. You will own the academic strategy in action, define clear benchmarks, surface execution shortfalls, and coach high-performing teams toward tangible results. You will convert our scientific underpinnings into operational rigor and articulate the case for this model on a global scale.
What You Will Be Doing
- Designing academic frameworks that convert learning science into actionable guidance for curriculum development, motivational architecture, and application design.
- Conducting academic execution reviews with Heads of Academics to ensure school teams remain aligned, accountable, and results-driven.
- Integrating data, interviews, and direct observation into ecosystem reviews that identify the most critical barriers to accelerated learning and recommend targeted interventions.
- Ensuring strategic coherence through planning, feedback mechanisms, and milestone monitoring to sustain focus on student learning objectives.
- Serving as the external face of 2 Hour Learning, from keynote presentations to engagements with Ministries of Education, advancing systemic transformation in global education thinking.

- Engaging in isolated curriculum initiatives that lack systemic impact.
- Producing theoretical research disconnected from student outcomes or operational execution.
- Transferring performance accountability to middle management or external consultants.
- Depending on institutional reputation or conceptual frameworks to convince critical stakeholders.
Director Of Academics Key Responsibilities
Expand and strengthen 2 Hour Learning's validated academic model by harmonizing execution across school sites, raising leadership standards, and serving as the public ambassador for a movement anchored in disciplined science and demonstrated outcomes.
Basic Requirements
- Advanced degree (Masters or Ph.D) in Learning Science, Educational Psychology, Instructional Design, or a related field
- At least 7 years in academic or EdTech leadership roles, leading a team of staff/employees (not an informal peer leader role, such as grade-level lead); you must have been responsible for hiring, monitoring performance, coaching, and making termination decisions
- Experience driving learning outcomes for students and upholding student performance standards
- Experience applying AI or emerging technologies to improve education, such as through personalized learning, adaptive learning, AI agents, etc.
- Experience managing academic teams of 50+ people (e.g., the teams you managed directly executed curriculum, instruction, or assessment)
- Experience interacting directly with students, teachers, or school leaders in a professional setting

Working with us
This is a full-time (40 hours per week), long-term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $200 USD/hour, which equates to $400,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
