At 2 Hour Learning, we have designed a system in which students achieve learning outcomes twice as quickly in only two hours per day. AI-driven tutoring, mastery-oriented advancement, and a fundamental break from traditional classroom design underpin these results. The outcomes are outstanding. We now need a leader who can consolidate execution across varied school contexts, elevate academic leadership standards, and serve as the external advocate for a movement rooted in evidence-based learning science.
This is not a position focused on academic theory. It is a leadership imperative. You will own the implementation of academic strategy, establish rigorous standards, diagnose execution shortfalls, and develop high-performing teams to achieve measurable impact. You will transform our scientific principles into operational excellence and champion this model globally.
What You Will Be Doing
- Developing academic frameworks that convert learning science into actionable guidance for curriculum design, motivation architecture, and application development.
- Conducting academic execution reviews with Heads of Academics to ensure school teams remain aligned, accountable, and results-oriented.
- Analyzing data, conducting interviews, and performing observations to generate academic ecosystem assessments that identify the highest-impact obstacles to accelerated learning and recommend concrete interventions.
- Ensuring strategic coherence through planning cycles, feedback mechanisms, and milestone monitoring to sustain focus on student learning objectives.
- Serving as the face of 2 Hour Learning in high-profile settings, including keynote presentations and engagements with Ministries of Education, influencing global perspectives on education reform.
What You Won’t Be Doing
- Engaging in fragmented curriculum initiatives that do not contribute to systemic improvement.
- Producing theoretical research disconnected from student outcomes or operational execution.
- Transferring performance accountability to mid-level managers or external consultants.
- Depending on institutional prestige or academic theory to convince critical stakeholders.
Director Of Academics Key Responsibilities
Expand and strengthen 2 Hour Learning's validated academic model by consolidating execution across all school sites, raising leadership performance standards, and serving as the authoritative public representative of a movement built on rigorous science and demonstrated results.
Basic Requirements
- Advanced degree (Masters or Ph.D) in Learning Science, Educational Psychology, Instructional Design, or a related field
- At least 7 years in academic or EdTech leadership roles, leading a team of staff/employees (not an informal peer leader role, such as grade-level lead); you must have been responsible for hiring, monitoring performance, coaching, and making termination decisions
- Experience driving learning outcomes for students and upholding student performance standards
- Experience applying AI or emerging technologies to improve education, such as through personalized learning, adaptive learning, AI agents, etc.
- Experience managing academic teams of 50+ people (e.g., the teams you managed directly executed curriculum, instruction, or assessment)
- Experience interacting directly with students, teachers, or school leaders in a professional setting

Working with us
This is a full-time (40 hours per week), long-term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $200 USD/hour, which equates to $400,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
