2 Hour Learning has developed a model enabling students to learn at double speed within a two-hour daily window. The model relies on AI-based tutoring, mastery progression, and a fundamental redesign of traditional schooling. Outcomes have been remarkable. We now need a leader to harmonize execution across varied school environments, strengthen academic leadership standards, and serve as the outward-facing authority for a movement anchored in evidence-based learning science.
This role is not about academic abstraction. It is a directive to lead. You will own academic strategy in action, establish rigorous standards, surface execution shortfalls, and guide elite teams toward tangible results. You will convert our scientific underpinnings into disciplined operations and articulate the case for this model on a global stage.
What You Will Be Doing
- Designing academic frameworks that operationalize learning science into concrete guidance for curriculum design, motivation architecture, and application development.
- Conducting academic execution reviews with Heads of Academics to ensure school teams maintain alignment, accountability, and performance.
- Integrating data, stakeholder interviews, and direct observation into comprehensive academic ecosystem assessments that identify the most critical obstacles to accelerated learning and recommend targeted interventions.
- Ensuring strategic coherence through planning cycles, feedback mechanisms, and milestone management to sustain focus on learning outcomes.
- Serving as the principal external representative of 2 Hour Learning—from keynote presentations to engagements with Ministries of Education—advancing systemic transformation in global education paradigms.

- Engaging in narrow curriculum adjustments that do not produce systemic impact.
- Producing theoretical research disconnected from measurable student outcomes or operational execution.
- Transferring performance accountability to mid-level managers or external consultants.
- Depending on organizational reputation or academic theory to convince critical audiences.
Director Of Academic Excellence Key Responsibilities
Expand and refine 2 Hour Learning's validated academic model by aligning execution across all school sites, raising leadership performance standards, and establishing yourself as the authoritative public advocate for a movement rooted in rigorous science and demonstrated outcomes.
Basic Requirements
- Advanced degree (Masters or Ph.D) in Learning Science, Educational Psychology, Instructional Design, or a related field
- At least 7 years in academic or EdTech leadership roles, leading a team of staff/employees (not an informal peer leader role, such as grade-level lead); you must have been responsible for hiring, monitoring performance, coaching, and making termination decisions
- Experience driving learning outcomes for students and upholding student performance standards
- Experience applying AI or emerging technologies to improve education, such as through personalized learning, adaptive learning, AI agents, etc.
- Experience managing academic teams of 50+ people (e.g., the teams you managed directly executed curriculum, instruction, or assessment)
- Experience interacting directly with students, teachers, or school leaders in a professional setting

Working with us
This is a full-time (40 hours per week), long-term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $200 USD/hour, which equates to $400,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
