Role Summary And Impact
As part of our Global Operations Centre (GOC), you will lead large-scale, multi-market media planning operations while partnering with stakeholders across the U.S., Europe, and Asia to drive strategic excellence, operational maturity, and business growth.
We are looking for a Director – Media Planning who will:
- Lead the overall media planning function across multiple teams, markets, or business verticals within the GOC structure.
- Drive strategic planning excellence by developing scalable integrated media planning frameworks, operating models, and best practices.
- Partner with senior market stakeholders and client teams to align offshore planning capabilities with business priorities and evolving client expectations.
- Oversee the development of sophisticated, data-driven media strategies across channels including digital, social/search, commerce, DOOH, video, and emerging platforms.
- Establish governance mechanisms to ensure consistency, quality control, operational efficiency, and delivery excellence across all planning outputs.
- Drive capability development across the planning organization through structured learning programs, mentorship, and leadership development initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to scale new planning capabilities, automation initiatives, AI-led workflows, and operational transformation projects.
- Act as a senior escalation point for strategic, operational, and stakeholder-related challenges.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Activation, Analytics, Ad Operations, Finance, Talent, and Operations leadership to improve business outcomes.
- Support organizational growth through resource planning, hiring strategy, team structuring, and succession planning initiatives.
- Lead innovation initiatives and contribute to the evolution of offshore media planning maturity across global markets.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and client-centric thinking.
Skills And Experience
- Media Planning teams are experts on the digital media landscape and how consumers interact with it. We architect and steward holistic media plans throughout their lifecycle, owning the creation of overall plans, cross-channel budget allocation, in-flight cross-channel optimization & reporting and post-campaign analysis. We are our clients’ key contacts for a unified view across all aspects of their campaigns, narrating the story of the campaign from planning recommendation through to PCA.
- 10+ years of experience in integrated media planning, communications strategy, or digital media leadership roles with significant multi-market/global exposure.
- Proven track record leading large-scale media planning teams within agency or offshore operational environments.
- Strong expertise across integrated media channels, planning methodologies, audience strategy, measurement frameworks, and business planning.
- Experience building and scaling offshore planning functions, operating models, and governance frameworks.
- Strong stakeholder management capabilities with experience influencing senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
- Strong commercial, strategic, and operational mindset with the ability to balance business goals, delivery quality, and team development.
- Experience driving transformation initiatives including automation, AI adoption, workflow optimization, and process maturity programs.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and storytelling skills.
- Strong people leadership capabilities with proven experience coaching senior managers and future leaders.
- Ability to operate in a highly matrixed, fast-paced, and evolving business environment.
- Demonstrated ability to lead change, drive innovation, and build high-performing teams.
