- Purpose of the Role
To design and lead the institution’s
Digital Transformation Strategy, aligning technology initiatives with long-term goals and fostering a future-ready, innovation-driven organisation.
Strategic Leadership
- Drive technology-enabled solutions to enhance institutional efficiency, academic delivery, and stakeholder experience.
- Position IT as a strategic partner across academic, administrative, and research functions.
- Stay ahead of global EdTech trends—especially in student, faculty, and employee management—by benchmarking best practices from leading institutions.
- Establish and enforce robust Information Security Policies, including data privacy, IT governance, compliance, and risk management.
- Lead innovation in digital learning and engagement—online platforms, hybrid programs, classroom tech, and emerging EdTech solutions.
Operational Excellence
- Ensure high-performing, secure, and scalable IT infrastructure—including websites, data centres (100% uptime), networks, and enterprise systems.
- Continuously monitor system reliability, performance, and security across servers, networks, and cloud environments.
- Incorporate feedback from students and faculty into product enhancements and IT improvements.
- Support cross-functional IT needs—including ERP, admissions, examinations, events, media, and social initiatives.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Lead vendor evaluation and procurement, ensuring cost-effective, high-impact technology solutions.
- Collaborate with academic and administrative leaders to promote digital adoption and build tech-awareness across the institution.

- Proven experience in senior IT leadership roles within complex organisations, preferably in higher education.
- Track record of delivering large-scale digital and organisational transformation initiatives.
- Ability to build high-performing teams, mentor talent, and cultivate innovation-driven cultures.
- Strong financial acumen—budgeting, ROI evaluation, and cost-optimised tech investments.
- Experience engaging with boards and regulatory bodies on governance, risk, and compliance matters.

- Ability to represent the institution at national/regional forums and influence digital strategy discussions.
- Experience cultivating strategic industry-academia partnerships and expanding external ecosystems.

Qualifications & Experience
- 15–20 years of IT experience, with deep exposure to enterprise systems, digital transformation, and change management.
- Graduate or postgraduate degree in IT, Computer Science, or related fields; engineering graduates with IT credentials may be considered.
- Expertise in IT architecture, protocols, governance frameworks, and security standards.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, Scrum) or equivalent experience.
- Hands-on experience in digital platforms—e.g., CMS, mobile apps, analytics, or e-commerce.
- Strong user-centric design thinking—requirement gathering, journey mapping, and solution adoption.
- Proficiency in process optimisation and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Financial literacy—including budgeting, cost control, and performance-based resource allocation.
