Job Title: Director – Centre for Online & Distance Education (CODE)
Location: Lakshmangarh, Rajasthan, India
Position Overview
The Director – CODE will lead the strategic planning, development, and execution of the University’s online and distance education initiatives. The role is pivotal in building a robust digital education ecosystem, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving growth in learner enrollment, engagement, and outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Leadership & Growth
• Develop and execute a roadmap for CDOE aligned with the University’s vision.
• Identify and launch market-relevant online degree, diploma, and certificate programs.
• Drive student enrollment growth through innovative program offerings and outreach.
2. Academic Governance & Program Development
• Lead curriculum design and delivery for online and distance programs in line with NEP 2020.
• Ensure academic rigor, industry relevance, and learner-centric pedagogy.
• Promote blended and experiential learning approaches.
3. Regulatory Compliance & Quality Assurance
• Ensure compliance with University Grants Commission (UGC-DEB) norms and other applicable bodies.
• Lead approvals, audits, and accreditation processes for online programs.
• Establish internal quality assurance mechanisms.
4. Digital Infrastructure & Innovation
• Oversee selection and optimization of Learning Management Systems (LMS) and digital tools.
• Drive adoption of emerging technologies such as AI-enabled learning, analytics, and virtual labs.
• Ensure seamless digital delivery and scalability of programs.
5. Faculty & Capability Building
• Recruit and mentor faculty for online teaching excellence.
• Conduct training programs on digital pedagogy and instructional design.
• Encourage research and innovation in online education.
6. Student Success & Experience
• Design and implement robust student lifecycle support (admissions, onboarding, mentoring, assessments, and placements).
• Monitor student engagement, retention, and performance metrics.
• Strengthen career services for online learners.
7. Industry Collaboration & Outreach
• Build partnerships with industry, edtech platforms, and global institutions.
• Promote programs through digital marketing, corporate tie-ups, and alumni networks.
• Explore internationalization opportunities for online education.
8. Administration & Financial Management
• Manage budgets, resource allocation, and revenue targets for CDOE.
• Ensure operational efficiency across academic, administrative, and technical teams.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
• Ph.D. from a recognized university.
• Minimum 15 years of academic experience with at least 5 years in leadership roles (Dean/Director/Head).
• Proven experience in distance/online education and program management.
• Strong understanding of UGC-DEB regulations and online education frameworks.
Desirable:
• Experience in scaling online programs in a university setting.
• Exposure to NAAC/NBA accreditation processes.
• Industry collaboration experience and international academic exposure.
• Research publications in reputed journals.
