The Role (Position Objective/ Summary)
Lumen is continuous looking to expand its network business in India, and also to enhance its global offerings for MNC customers and enrich its global coverage.
The objective of the role is to oversee our India network business, technologies, and operations in the network. The role will oversee P&L for India licensed entity and will work closely with regional and global stakeholders to grow India network opportunities as well as retention of existing customers. This leadership role will directly and indirectly manage our India network operations to drive operational efficiency and better turn-around time to deliver a desired customer experience. He/She will also act as CTO and CSO in front of Indian government authorities and will work closely with India Nodal Officer and other internal stakeholders to ensure the company is compliant in all aspects.
The Main Responsibilities
- Oversee our India license entity & P&L. Work closely with APAC Management Team and Functional Leaders to drive profitability and growth with respect to the India network business.
- Working with broader APAC and Corporate functions to continuously drive operational efficiency, engagement with local vendors and desired customer experience.
- To build and lead local India teams in a matrix arrangement
- Own and manage day to day of the India network business. Develop plans and solutions to meet business requirements with optimal cost structure, including both capital and network expenditures.
- Liaise with product team, network planning team and network engineering team for optimal design, and network design, and any changes/upgrades for India network.
- Act as Lumen’s designated CTO and CSO as per the requirements under applicable telecom licenses issued by Department of Telecommunications, Government of India (DoT).
- Work closely with Nodal Officer as a key liaison with government authorities and any new requirements relevant to new product roll outs (including any amendments), technologies and security, including but not limited to network high-level and low-level technical design, network clearance, changes of and to network and all set-ups and processes that ensure Lumen compliant to security of the network and operation.
What We Look For In a Candidate
- Resident Indian citizen (requirement as per applicable laws)
- Engineering or related degrees
- At least 15+ years of relevant experience
- At least 10+ years of leadership experience; people management and interpersonal skill at all levels within an organization, with an ability to collaborate and liaison with multiple stakeholders, internally and externally
- Hands on CTO/CSO in past capacity; experience in working with government agencies is required
- Strong understanding and experience of working on Indian regulatory compliance requirements framework to manage and meet technical, operational and security related compliance requirements.
- Well versed with practical understanding and implementation of various compliance requirements, with an ability to assess their impact on the overall existing or proposed network, technical and security framework.
- Self-starter, solutions oriented, proactive team player, with an ability to manage number of projects, with colleagues distributed globally
- Domestic or international travel if required
- Organized and able to work independently
- Able to work and lead in ambiguities
