What You’ll Do
Responsible for leading a team and identifying, analyzing and executing on business opportunities to drive volume and acceptance growth in a region, territory or industry to include but not limited to opportunities such as new products, services and partnership opportunities. Manages client relationships, works with partners to grow their business, negotiates new and updated participation agreements and assists product areas in adding span of products desired by partners.
Creates a culture of effective risk management, accountability, and demonstration of risk awareness across the organization.
The position will take a leadership role in managing one of the large partnerships in the Indian Sub-continent and take accountability for implementation of business development strategy in an effort to grow the total volume, market share and achieve revenue targets by managing the key relationships.
The candidate needs to have a strong understanding of payments business, technology and operations and the Indian sub-continent payments landscape.
What we’re looking for
- Lead a team to develop and maintain partner relationships across a region or industry
- Drive volume from existing programs and increase volume through new partnerships
- Foster organic growth in volume and acceptance via existing partners
- Partner internally and externally to launch new programs and capabilities
- Strategic thinking to identify scalable partnership opportunities & balance short-term revenue with long-term network positioning
- Ability to build relationship capital with banks, fintechs, regulators, merchants, processors, and networks and can navigate CXO conversations naturally
- Deep payments industry knowledge & ability to navigate complexity
- Has executive presence with strong communication skills, handling pressure calmly with strong bias for execution
- Needs to have data orientation and have strong negotiating skills to structure win-win partnerships

- Partner internally and externally to launch new programs and capabilities
Basic Qualifications
- At least 15 years of experience in Payments, Banking, Relationship Management, or Marketing
- At least 4 years of experience in People Leadership
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, or Marketing
- At least 15+ years experience of International sales/business development in a multi-regional financial services organization
- Business knowledge of International Card Schemes; Issuing, Acquiring and Pricing.
- Card Scheme operational and policy knowledge.
- 10+ years of experience of developing and successfully implementing, quantifiable business plans
- Strong influencing and negotiation skills
- Industry knowledge and networking especially in account relationships/ acquirers and merchants
- Have an entrepreneurial approach and able to prioritize and manage parallel projects and issues
- Excellent communication skills from a written, verbal and presentation perspective
- 10+ years of multi-disciplinary knowledge, i.e. product, operations, acquiring and emerging technologies
- Client focused approach with the ability to interact across all management levels
