Job Summary
The Director Applications & Tools directs the application portfolio strategy and execution across multiple business domains, aligned to the vertical and horizontal product lanes. Translate enterprise priorities into application investment roadmaps, ensure operational resilience, own vendor portfolio relationships and contract outcomes, drive cross functional alignment across Technology and key stakeholders.
Essential Job Functions
- Define and execute multi year application strategy and investment priorities aligned to enterprise outcomes and vendor roadmaps. - (25%)
- Partner with business leaders, Technology leaders, product management, and vendors to align scope, secure funding, and govern application decisions - (20%)
- Oversee enterprise vendor risk, contract performance, compliance posture, and major incident response escalation. - (15%)
- Define enterprise KPI/KRIs, drive portfolio performance metrics, and report ROI, adoption, and business impact to senior leadership. - (15%)
- Provides strategic talent leadership through coaching, feedback, performance management, and career development, cultivating an engaged and high performing team - (15%)
- Ensure work is delivered through a product aligned, agile execution model. - (10%)
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, IT, Information Systems or related field of study or equivalent, relevant work experience
- 12+ years of experience in technology/application leadership, leading multi team portfolios, influencing executive stakeholders, and owning P&L or program budgets
- 7+ years direct leadership experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Business, IT, Information Systems or related field of study or equivalent, relevant work experience
- Executive leadership programs, portfolio management, or vendor/governance certifications advantageous.
- 15+ years of experience in enterprise application transformation experience and vendor ecosystem leadership

Work Environment
- Normal office environment. As a senior leader, must work at a Bread Financial office a minimum of 6 days per month. Ability to travel 6 days a month if not located near a Bread Financial office.

- Ability to travel up to 10% annually
