We are seeking a Digital Twin Solutions Engineer who can take the high-quality 3D assets, environments, models, and characters produced by our in-house 3D team and converge them into functioning, intelligent Digital Twin systems powered by AI.
This is not a 3D artist or modeler role. Our 3D team handles all asset creation. What we need is the engineer who builds the “brain and nervous system” of the Digital Twin — the person who:
• Ingests and orchestrates 3D assets into a Digital Twin platform
• Connects the twin to real-world data (IoT sensors, live feeds, enterprise databases)
• Integrates AI/ML models for simulation intelligence, predictive analytics, and automated decision-making
• Makes the entire system behave as a live, synchronized, intelligent replica of a real-world asset or environment
You will work at the intersection of NGXP’s AI and 3D pillars — our key differentiator — and deliver next-generation Digital Twin solutions for clients across maritime, construction, energy, and industrial sectors.
Key Responsibilities
• Digital Twin Platform Development: Set up, configure, and develop on Digital Twin platforms (NVIDIA Omniverse, Azure Digital Twins, AWS IoT TwinMaker, Bentley iTwin, or equivalent). Build the core twin environment into which 3D assets are integrated.
• 3D Asset Integration & Scene Orchestration: Ingest 3D models, environments, characters, and animations created by our in-house 3D team (in formats like USD, FBX, glTF, IFC) into the Digital Twin. Manage asset optimization, Level of Detail (LOD), scene composition, and real-time rendering performance within the twin.
• AI / ML Integration: Design and integrate AI and machine learning models into the Digital Twin for predictive maintenance, anomaly detection, process simulation, optimization, and intelligent decision support. Work with our AI team to embed trained models into live twin pipelines.
• IoT & Real-Time Data Connectivity: Connect the Digital Twin to real-time IoT sensor streams, SCADA systems, BIM data, enterprise databases, and APIs. Ensure the twin stays synchronized with the physical asset or environment it represents.
• Simulation Logic & Behavior: Develop simulation rules, physics-based behaviours, scenario modelling, and what-if analysis capabilities within the twin. Enable clients to run simulations for training, risk assessment, and operational planning.
• AR/VR/MR/XR Integration: Collaborate with the 3D team to enable immersive access to Digital Twins via AR/VR/MR/XR headsets and WebXR for training and remote monitoring use cases.
• Cloud Deployment & Scalability: Deploy and scale Digital Twin solutions on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) with attention to performance, latency, data security, and multi-user access.
• Cross-Team Collaboration: Act as the bridge between the 3D team, AI engineers, enterprise software developers, IoT specialists, and client stakeholders. Define asset specifications and pipeline requirements for the 3D team to ensure seamless integration.
• R&D & Standards: Stay current with Digital Twin standards (ISO 23247, DTDL), emerging platforms, and industry best practices. Contribute to building NGXP’s internal Digital Twin practice and IP.
Required Skills & Technical Expertise
Digital Twin Platform & Integration (Core Requirement)
• Proven hands-on experience building, deploying, or contributing to Digital Twin projects in any industry
• Proficiency in one or more Digital Twin platforms: NVIDIA Omniverse, Azure Digital Twins, AWS IoT TwinMaker, Bentley iTwin, or equivalent
• Strong understanding of 3D asset pipeline formats (USD, FBX, glTF, IFC, BIM models) — not for creation, but for ingestion, optimization, and orchestration within a twin environment
• Experience with scene composition, Level of Detail (LOD) management, and real-time rendering optimization in the context of Digital Twins
• Understanding of Digital Twins Definition Language (DTDL) or equivalent twin modelling schemas
AI / ML & Simulation
• Experience with AI/ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, ONNX) for building predictive models, anomaly detection, or simulation intelligence
• Ability to integrate trained AI models into live Digital Twin pipelines for real-time inference and decision support
• Understanding of physics-based simulation, scenario modelling, and what-if analysis
IoT & Data Connectivity
• Familiarity with IoT protocols (MQTT, OPC-UA, AMQP) and real-time data streaming (Kafka, RabbitMQ)
• Experience connecting to SCADA systems, BIM platforms, enterprise databases, and REST/GraphQL APIs
• Understanding of data synchronization between physical assets and their digital representations
Software Engineering Fundamentals
• Strong programming skills in Python, C++, C#, or JavaScript/TypeScript
• REST API development and microservices architecture
• Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Version control (Git), CI/CD pipelines, and collaborative development practices
Good to Have (Preferred, Not Mandatory)
• Experience with AR/VR/MR/XR platforms (HoloLens, Meta Quest, WebXR, Apple Vision Pro) for immersive twin access
• Knowledge of simulation frameworks (Gazebo, AirSim, MATLAB Simulink, Ansys Twin Builder)
• Exposure to BIM workflows (Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, Tekla) for construction/infrastructure twins
• Experience with GIS and geospatial visualization (Cesium, Mapbox, ArcGIS)
• Familiarity with ISO 23247 (Digital Twin Manufacturing Framework)
• Prior work in maritime, construction, energy, oil & gas, or manufacturing sectors

Important Note
This role does NOT require 3D modelling, rigging, texturing, or animation skills. NGXP has a comprehensive in-house 3D team of experts handling all asset creation across Unreal Engine, Unity, Autodesk, Blender, and more. The Digital Twin Solutions Engineer works on top of the 3D output — integrating, orchestrating, connecting data, applying AI intelligence, and delivering the functioning twin system.

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or Equivalent Experience, Software Engineering, AI/ML, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field
• 2–6+ years of relevant professional experience in Digital Twin development, IoT integration, AI-driven simulation, or related fields
• Fresh candidates with exceptional Digital Twin project portfolios or research work will be considered
• Strong portfolio or demonstrable project work involving Digital Twin platforms, IoT-connected simulations, or AI-integrated 3D environments
• Excellent problem-solving skills, ability to work in cross-functional teams bridging AI and 3D disciplines, and strong communication skills.
