About the Business Function: From molecule to market, Global Manufacturing plays an important role in every step along a product’s lifecycle. Most of our customers never see the scientific and technical resources behind our medicines. But customers experience, every day, the performance of our high-quality products and global supply network.
Global Manufacturing comprises a core group of functions that contribute to the production and supply of high-quality products: Engineering; Manufacturing Information & Control Systems; Quality & Labs, Technology Services/Manufacturing Science; Global Health, Safety and Environment; and Global Supply Chain.
Key Responsibilities
IoT Platform Excellence:
- Develop and maintain IoT ecosystems ensuring uptime, and scalable evolution to support manufacturing growth
- Developing and implement comprehensive IoT solutions including edge device management
- Deployment of end-to-end IoT platforms from proof-of-concept through production validation and ongoing lifecycle management
Cloud-Native Application Development
- Docker & Containers – Building, running, and managing containers & images
- Establish and enforce containerization best practices, automated CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code principles for rapid, reliable deployments
- Partner with cross-functional teams to enable IoT application integration, automated testing, and continuous delivery workflows
Data Streaming & Integration
- Implementing data ingestion pipelines using Apache Kafka, MQTT brokers, and Azure Event Hub to process manufacturing telemetry
- Ensure seamless OT/IT integration through secure, compliant data bridges that maintains manufacturing system integrity
- Develop real-time analytics solutions that transform OT data streams into actionable insights for production optimization and predictive maintenance.
Knowledge Sharing, Training & Documentation
- Maintain detailed runbooks, architecture diagrams, deployment documentation, and SOPs.
Education Requirements
- Bachelors in Computer Science/IT, or Engineering (or equivalent work experience)
- 4 - 8 year of experience
Skills/requirements
- Manufacturing experience with deep knowledge of manufacturing execution systems.
- Experience with at least one cloud platform (Azure, AWS, GCP)
- Hands-on experience with OpenShift/Kubernetes including container orchestration
- Experience in Programming/scripting skills, Git, CI/CD pipelines
- Proven track record of development & implementing IoT solutions in regulated environments with understanding data integrity, and audit trail requirements
- Troubleshooting, Debugging & resolving containerized apps, basic monitoring & logging
- Good to have experience in bridging OT/IT systems while maintaining network segmentation and industrial cybersecurity best practices
- Good to have knowledge on Apache Kafka ecosystem, stream processing frameworks, and real-time data pipeline optimization for high-volume manufacturing data
- Good to have understanding of DevSecOps practices, infrastructure automation, and monitoring solutions for production environments
- Good to have Pharmaceutical Manufacturing experience and Good to have GxP knowledge
