Digital Marketing Specialist – SEO, Content & Copy

The Role
This is a hands-on execution role. You'll own our digital presence and the words behind it — keeping our WordPress SEO sharp, our content pipeline moving, our email campaigns running, and our copy crisp across every touchpoint. You'll work closely with our Design Team and Developers to write and maintain copy across the website, mobile apps, and web product. If you've spent time at a digital marketing agency managing SEO and content for B2B clients, this will feel familiar — except you'll own one brand end-to-end.
What You'll Own
SEO & WordPress
- Maintain and improve on-page SEO across the company website (WordPress)
- Conduct keyword research, track rankings (SEMrush / Ahrefs / Search Console), and flag drops or opportunities
- Manage technical SEO hygiene — meta tags, internal linking, schema, page speed
- Keep up with AI search / GEO (Google AI Overviews, Perplexity visibility)
Content & Blog
- Own the editorial calendar — plan, write, and publish blog content
- Optimise and publish blog posts with strong SEO quality
- Use AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, SurferSEO) to speed up content production
Product & Website Copy
- Write and maintain copy across the website, web app, and mobile apps — landing pages, feature descriptions, onboarding flows, in-app messaging, CTAs, error states, and more
- Partner with Design and Development to deliver copy that's clear, on-brand, and conversion-focused
- Own a lightweight copy review process so nothing ships with placeholder text
- Adapt tone and detail for different audiences — merchants, partners, end users
Email & Inbound Campaigns
- Set up and manage email marketing sequences for inbound leads (HubSpot or similar)
- Build newsletters, nurture flows, and campaign emails
- Track open rates, CTR, and conversion — iterate based on data
Paid Campaigns (Secondary)
- Set up and manage basic Google Ads or LinkedIn campaigns when needed
- Monitor performance, adjust bids, and report ROI
Reporting
- Weekly dashboard: rankings, traffic, MQLs, email performance
- Tell us what's working, what's not, and what to do next
What We're Looking For
- 4–5 years in digital marketing, ideally agency-side with B2B or SaaS clients
- Strong writing chops — you can shift between a blog post, a landing page headline, and an in-app tooltip without missing a beat
- Hands-on with WordPress SEO — Yoast/RankMath, redirects, page structure
- Comfortable with rank tracking and keyword tools (SEMrush, Ahrefs, or equivalent)
- Experience setting up email campaigns and automations (HubSpot, Mailchimp, or similar)
- Basic familiarity with Google Ads or LinkedIn Ads
- Uses AI tools naturally in your workflow
- Strong written English — you'll be writing for a UK audience
Bonus Points
- Experience writing product/UX copy for apps or SaaS platforms
- Experience targeting UK/EU markets
- Background in FinTech, SaaS, or payments content
- Knows what GEO (Generative Engine Optimisation) is and has experimented with it

- You're primarily a social media or brand marketing person
- You need a large team around you to execute
- You've only worked in-house with a big team doing the heavy lifting
- You think of "copy" as just blog posts — this role includes product UI, landing pages, and everything in between
