About the Role
We are looking for a Digital Marketing & AEO Specialist to drive our brand's visibility across traditional search engines and the rapidly growing ecosystem of AI-powered search and answer engines.
The role will focus on making our brand, products, services, and content more likely to be discovered, cited, recommended, and accurately represented by AI platforms such as ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews/AI Mode, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity, Microsoft Copilot, and other emerging AI search experiences.
This is not simply an SEO role. We are looking for someone who understands how SEO, content, digital PR, structured data, brand authority, entity optimization, and AI-generated answers work together.
Key Responsibilities1. Answer Engine Optimization (AEO)
- Develop and execute an AEO strategy to increase brand visibility in AI-generated answers.
- Research how target customers phrase questions when using ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity, Claude, Copilot, and other AI assistants.
- Identify high-value conversational queries, informational questions, comparison queries, and commercial-intent prompts.
- Optimize website and content to improve the likelihood of being understood, surfaced, cited, and recommended by AI systems.
- Develop content structures that provide clear, authoritative, machine-readable answers.
- Track brand mentions, citations, recommendations, and competitor visibility across AI platforms.
- Identify gaps where competitors are being surfaced by AI systems but our brand is not.
- Develop strategies to improve brand/entity recognition and topical authority.
2. AI Search & Generative Search Optimization
- Monitor developments in Generative Engine Optimization (GEO), AEO, AI Search Optimization, and AI visibility.
- Analyze AI-generated search results and identify factors influencing visibility and citations.
- Test different content formats, structures, entities, terminology, and information architecture.
- Build prompt/query libraries for systematic AI visibility testing.
- Measure changes in AI visibility over time and translate findings into actionable marketing initiatives.
- Keep the organization informed about major changes in AI search behavior and platforms.
3. SEO & Organic Growth
- Develop and execute on-page and technical SEO initiatives.
- Conduct keyword, topic, entity, competitor, and search-intent research.
- Build topic clusters and content strategies around high-value customer journeys.
- Optimize titles, headings, metadata, internal linking, URLs, schema markup, and content structure.
- Work with developers to improve technical SEO, crawlability, indexation, Core Web Vitals, structured data, and website architecture.
- Identify opportunities from Google Search Console, GA4, SEO tools, and other analytics platforms.
4. Content Strategy
- Create and manage content strategies designed for both humans and AI systems.
- Develop briefs for blogs, landing pages, FAQs, comparison pages, product pages, guides, and thought-leadership content.
- Ensure content demonstrates expertise, credibility, originality, and clear first-hand value.
- Identify questions that should be answered directly on owned digital properties.
- Develop FAQ and knowledge-base strategies around high-intent customer questions.
- Work with writers, subject-matter experts, designers, and product teams to produce authoritative content.
5. Digital PR & Authority Building
- Develop strategies to increase credible third-party references to the brand.
- Identify publications, industry websites, directories, communities, podcasts, research sources, and other authoritative platforms where the brand should have a presence.
- Support digital PR, thought leadership, expert commentary, link acquisition, and brand mention campaigns.
- Identify authoritative sources that AI systems are likely to use when constructing answers.
- Build strategies for strengthening the brand's digital footprint and entity authority.
6. AI Visibility Measurement & Analytics
Create and maintain an AI Visibility Dashboard covering metrics such as:
- AI brand mentions
- AI citations
- Citation share
- AI recommendation frequency
- Share of voice versus competitors

- Practical understanding of AEO, GEO, Generative Search, AI Search, or AI visibility optimization.
- Hands-on familiarity with ChatGPT, Google Gemini, Perplexity, Claude, Microsoft Copilot, and similar AI platforms.
- Strong content strategy and content optimization skills.
- Experience with Google Search Console and Google Analytics/GA4.
- Understanding of structured data/schema markup, internal linking, crawlability, indexation, and technical SEO.
- Strong analytical and research skills.
- Ability to convert data and AI-search observations into actionable marketing strategies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
