Systems Engineer - IT

Digital Island Limited is seeking a talented Systems Engineer to join our dynamic IT team in Grafton, Auckland. As a Systems Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining and optimising our company's critical IT infrastructure and systems. This full-time position offers the opportunity to work with the latest technologies and contribute to the ongoing success of our business. What you'll be doing Proactively monitor and manage the performance, availability, and security of our servers, networks, and other IT systems Implement and maintain efficient backup and disaster recovery strategies to ensure business continuity Provide expert-level technical support and troubleshooting to our employees, addressing issues in a timely and effective manner Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, deploy, and integrate new IT solutions that align with our business goals Continuously research and recommend innovative technologies and best practices to improve our IT infrastructure Assist with the documentation of IT processes and procedures to maintain a robust knowledge base Participate in on-call rotations and respond to critical incidents outside of normal business hours as needed What we're looking for Extensive experience (5+ years) in a similar systems engineering or IT support role, preferably within the Information & Communication Technology industry Proven expertise in managing and troubleshooting Windows Server, network, and cloud-based technologies Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to quickly diagnose and resolve complex technical issues Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively liaise with technical and non-technical stakeholders Demonstrated experience in project management and the successful delivery of IT projects A passion for staying up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies Relevant certifications, such as Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) or CompTIA A+, are highly desirable What we offer At Digital Island Limited, we are committed to providing our employees with a rewarding and supportive work environment.
