Diamond Baseball Holdings (DBH) was formed in 2021 to support, promote, and enhance Minor League Baseball through professional management, best practices, innovation and investment.

DBH is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to oversee the day-to-day administration of all seasonal payroll related matters across multiple systems, including employee inquires, transactions, and policies and procedures.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Works closely to manage the payroll relationship with our teams and Paychex.
  • Engages in bi-weekly, weekly and bi-monthly payroll processing duties for all sites assigned.
  • Processes and reviews payroll data for accuracy and completeness before submitting for final approval.
  • Ensures all payroll transactions are processed efficiently and in compliance with applicable laws (e.g., federal, state, and local tax regulations).
  • Maintains and monitors all HR documents and payroll records, including wage changes, deductions, benefits, and direct deposit information.
  • Assist with year-end processes such as W-2 preparation and tax filings.
  • Responds to local site management questions and resolves payroll-related issues with Paychex in a timely and professional manner.
  • Collaborates with HR and accounting teams to reconcile payroll data with financial records.
  • Generates payroll reports and assists with audits as required.
  • Maintains confidentiality and data integrity for all payroll and employee information.
  • Keeps current on payroll regulations and best practices to ensure compliance.
  • Assists with the implementation of new sites, and ensures all managerial staff are trained in the use of time keeping and onboarding.
  • Works closely with Corporate HR to ensure each location has proper documentation for onboarding activities in payroll.
  • Responds to technical issues as a liaison between Paychex and the local site.
  • Handles high volume requests from multiple sites which are payroll specific.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state and federal laws, including required notice distribution, non-discrimination testing, internal reviews of benefits plans & deductions
  • Participate in implementation and integration projects as well as system updates and audits.


Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (associate’s or bachelor’s degree in accounting, HR, or business administration preferred).
  • 5+ years of payroll processing experience for multi sites.
  • Experience in training staff on the use of the payroll system.
  • Expert experience with Paycom payroll software and timekeeping systems. Experience with Paychex software system preferred.
  • Solid understanding of federal and state payroll and tax regulations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Ability to handle high volume projects in payroll, while balancing daily and weekly duties.
