- Set up and sterilize dialysis machines and equipment before treatment.
- Ensure machines are functioning properly and calibrated.
- Prepare patients for dialysis procedures.
- Check vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature before and during treatment.
- Monitor patients during dialysis sessions.
- Observe for complications such as low blood pressure, cramps, or nausea.
- Document treatment details, patient vitals, and any complications.
- Maintain accurate patient records and treatment logs.
- Follow strict hygiene and sterilization protocols.
- Maintain cleanliness of dialysis units and equipment.
- Clean and disinfect dialysis machines after each use.
- Report any machine malfunction or maintenance requirement.
- Support nephrologists and nurses during dialysis procedures.
- Help manage patient comfort and safety during treatment.
- Educate patients about dialysis procedures and post-treatment care.
- Provide guidance on maintaining hygiene and vascular access care.
Preferred qualification
Diploma in dialysis technology
BSC Dialysis technology
